Simple answer, no.

If it is only used in your house, you can usually control access the network, i.e. allow it connect to the internet at all, by having your network password protected.

I fear you're stuffed - there are countless ways to download content to your iPod from countless different sources.

I guess you could restrict the number of sources available on your computer (which is a main source of media for your iPod Touch) but then again one could just access it all through the iPod itself...

That's the answer I wanted to hear. I'm thinking about buying DS a touch for Christmas, so I don't have it yet. Could you tell me what can be controlled and basically how you do it?

So what is this?? DS wanted one for his birthday last April and I was told that there was no way to put parental controls on. He would be thrilled to get one for Christmas.

Also, I was under the impression that they could pull up most any internet site on the ipod touch...(before paretal controls) is that not true? I was nervous about him having the whole internet in his pocket...there is nasty stuff even if you aren't looking for it.

Youtube is one site they can access that has adult content. There's even a screen on the menu for youtube that says something like "most popular videos" and 1/2 of them are raunchy! So easy to access from the comfort of a child's own bedroom. And what's to stop a kid from saying they are age 18 or over when clicking on one of those videos?

I'm setting the parental controls now. Looks like you enter a passcode, and then you enable and disable whatever you want. don't want them buying apps without you? disable it. don't want them on the internet, youtube, or itunes? Just turn it off.

You can also choose what movie and tv ratings you will allow, allow only clean music and podcasts, and choose age restrictions for apps.

I don't have an iPod myself so this is going to be a bit tricky for me.

I disabled the internet, youtube, itunes, installing apps, and in-app purchases.

I restricted movies to pg-13, tv to tv-14, and apps to 12+. you can also change music and podcasts to clean instead of explicit, but I'm not going to do that because that may filter out too much of our classic rock.

I know - I was hoping for that, too. It's all or none, I guess. Maybe a future update will be better?

I didn't even know there was 18 and over content on youtube. Shows how much I use it. When you say "raunchy" do you mean (I don't know how to say this so I don't get in trouble)... um, over rated R?

there is an email app that's separate. He will probably still be able to use that.
