Do you think there is anywhere that might take an Ipod touch 8gb back without a receipt?

Thanks!

Off hand, I would say that the chances are pretty slim.

If it was a gift, you might want to ask the person who gave it to you if they still have the receipt. If you purchased it yourself, the store where you bought it may be able to track it by your credit or debit card.

Actually, my son won it. He already has an ipod, and has been wanting an iphone. We had been thinking about getting the iphone anyway, and were trying so see if anything could work out returning it

What about selling it on craigslist or eBay? If it's new and in the box, you might get pretty close to retail price.

:sad2: And this is why return policies have become so strict.

Without a receipt no one will take back anything over $70.

eBay and Craigslist are the way to go. Good luck!

I actually do know they were talking about purchasing prizes from Walmart and Best Buy last week. I could try them, otherwise I will sell it. We just don't need it, unfortunately.

It would be a great thing to 're-gift'. Is there anyone on your list that might like it?
We gave one to my parents (in their 70s) last year and they LOVE it. They use it way more than they ever used their computer. Check their emails from it, check the news and weather, use Facetime with their grandkids, etc.

When you take back Apple merchandise, the store usually scans the serial # on the item. They would know if it was purchased there or not.

Or sell it on Amazon marketplace. You won't get the full price for it because of the seller fee but if you price it low enough I'm sure you'll get it off your hands pretty quick.

I would be very careful in trying to return it since everywhere that sells the Ipods has to scan in the serial number. Also, we recently had bestbuy warehouse individuals busted for stealing and reselling Ipods and Iphones and such.

Honestly, your best bet would be to attempt to resell it a little under cost and you would still be making a profit off it.

I called the Apple store. They asked for the serial #. It was bought there and I have a date and a little info. I can return it for store credit.
Thanks!
