IPOD question -- quick help! Can't disconnect.

DD and I just got refurbished IPOD Nanos yesterday. Hers worked fine, but mine says "Do not disconnect" and we can't figure out how to get it to let us do it. Any eject option ejects the CD from the computer, but doesn't make the screen on the IPOD change from "Do not disconnect." The help feature didn't offer any help.

My DH's did the same thing. We just watched the pc screen on ITunes for the sych to be complete. If the screen was done doing everything we just went ahead and disconnected. Have had it since early January and all has been fine. Kinda scares you though that your messing something up. We are very happy with our refurbished !!

Ahhh... I had this same problem! There should be an icon on the bottom, right hand side of your screen. Like where you're internet icon, sound icon, etc... are all along the bottom toolbar. If you right click on the Ipod icon, it will give you a short menu. Select the Exit Itunes (or maybe Ipod). This should shut it all down and then you can disconnect. HTH!

I had this same problem but was scared to just disconnect it. So, I shut down the entire computer and then disconnected the ipod. I was afraid of what the results would be, but I couldn't keep sitting there waiting. It worked fine, though.

One side note, do you have version 7 of itunes? (The latest, I guess.) It seems to eject the ipods much better than the earlier versions.

It happened to me, too, with my son's Video Ipod so I ran to the Ipod tutorial. Right click on the ipod icon on the iTunes list and click on EJECT. Then you can disconnect.

I found it on Itunes website. It's not REAL clear but it helped me with basics.
