I've encountered many iPod owners who haven't yet discovered the joys of podcasts. If you haven't checked these out yet, you should! They are FREE!!
Go to the iTunes Store and click on podcasts. You will see there is a wide variety of topics. Choose one that is of interest to you and click on it. You can read the description, then scroll further to read any reviews. If you like it, click subscribe. Once you subscribe, you can click on any episodes in the podcast that you want.
There are podcasts for non-video iPods and video podcasts.
Some of my favorites are: Discovery Channel, NPR stories, puzzles, Animal Planet Presents, BBC Mindgames Magazine, NBC Nightly News, Food Network, Japanesepod101, Celtic Folk Podcast, Comedy Central.
There are a variety of children's stories and videos.
Yesterday I discovered Podiobooks- audiobooks in podcast form for free! I'm listening to one called Heaven, and my 11 year old son is really loving one called Shadowmagic. These obviously are not mainstream books and there aren't a lot yet, but I love the idea of free audiobooks!
So, if you haven't tried podcasts yet, you should! I love the stories from NPR or National Geographic for working out. They keep my interest much more than music does (and I'm a musician by profession!)

podcasts. Been listening to them for several months now. In fact, that's about all I listen to--hardly ever listen to music.
