Ipod or an MP3 player, what's the difference?

I have a few questions regarding Ipods and MP3 players I was hoping to get some help on. I would appreciate the help with one, or more of the questions...thanks.

1) Does anyone know what the difference between an Ipod and an MP3 player is? Is there a difference? My wife asked me this and I don't know what the difference is.

2) I have a ton of operas to download, can I download them and keep all the songs of an opera together or will the Ipod/MP3 player shuffle them up, rendering the opera story line useless?

3) Which one would everyone recommend, and Ipod or an MP3 player?

I was told that they are the same basically. IPod is more popular because of name recognition. I refuse to spend a ton of money on one for my 12 y/o dd, so I bought her an $80 MP3 player over the week-end. If she is responsible with that then maybe she'll get a more expensive IPod model. But, other than that, I am pretty ignorant on this subject.

an Ipod IS an mp3 player. There are many different companies that make mp3 players, Apple, Dell, River, Creative Labs, Sony, etc...

Ipod is just a common one...and one most kids seem to want!

about your Operas...as long as you download them "as one album"...it shouldn't shuffle them around if you play the playlist "straight". (example - fi I play a particular album, it will play as it is numbered, or, how I downloaded it) If you "shuffle play all"...yeah, they will play out of order.

find the mp3 player that works for you. I have a Zen Touch by Creative labs. It kicks apple Ipod's in battery life (mine has a nearly 24hour battery), is affordable (under $250 for 20gig), and is easy to use. I don't need to watch TV on my mp3 player, so this works for me! heheh
