iPod Nano vs. iPod Touch

My 16DD wants an iPod for Christmas, and I don't know a thing about them. She currently has the Product Red one (about 3 years old) and claims the battery is wearing out or dying.

I would greatly appreciate some advice as I'm totally lost (I'm electronically challenged). I bought the Touch when Toys R Us had a gift card special last week, but now I'm second guessing myself about the purchase.

touch can do apps which are GREAT and quite cheap most that i buy are under 5 bucks and lots and lots 2 or less. but the touch doesn't have a video camera in it... the new nano has a built in video camera that takes pretty decent video for it's size... so does she want apps and a bigger screne more or does she want video... i myself couldn't choose... so i got both

The Touch is far more versatile than the Nano. You made the best choice.

I like my touch a lot too but I'm using mine more as a PDA than anything else. When my 14 year old can use mine, he likes all the apps I've got but not my music.

Some apps do run the battery down mighty fast though.

Touch.. god I love that thing and I'm a little older than 16 lol I haven't "bought" an app in months. We love the free ones! I have 9 pages of them

I'm a techie "adult", and I'm planning on upgrading my nano to the touch in the next few months. I don't even want the touch for the apps. The nano is great for the gym and all. I just want something that has more power for when I'm commuting--that tiny video screen loses it's muster after a while.

That is a tough call for a 14 year old. The touch is better for watching games and videos as well as all the other apps, but the Nano has the video camera on it.

My 13 year old has both, and only uses the touch. He has had it for about a year, and uses it everyday and loves it. My 10 year old got a nano last year, and never used it. He just got the new touch for his birthday and hardly puts it down. The touch rules at our house. I actually wouldn't mind having one myself.
