My wonderful and kind DH gave me a iPod Nano for Valentine's Day, and now I need to by STUFF for it, specifically a FM transmitter so I can listen in the car. There are quite a few products out there that do that, but most of them have lousy reviews. Can you tell me what products you have been happy OR unhappy with? I certainly appreciate all help! Thanks.

I have a monster one. Love it. Haven't had a bit of trouble with it.

Thanks! I'll check into that one.

Any other suggestions out there????

Does your car have a cassette player, I use a cassette adapter. Works great and is so much cheaper.

I just got one. It's an el cheapo one and very small, called i trip. Works okay when I drive to DC and back but that is as far as I've gone with it. If you have anything but static on the frequency you're on, you lose the signal.

I don't remember the brand of mine but I got it at Best Buy for about $40-50. I just plug into my cig lighter and set the radio station and the transmitter station on the same channel. I normally keep it on a radio station in the 88.0-90.0. I like it because it keeps my IPOD charged too. I've traveled and commute and no problem so far.

I also bought a really cute case at Best Buy for my IPOD thats not a skin but an actually case that you put the IPOD in and shut the lid. Looks almost like a lipstick case.

You aren't kidding. DH has an FM transmitter and the cassette adapter works just as great. DS uses one in his truck.

My car has a cassette deck, but DH's truck does not. I'm looking to buy one now so he can use it on a road trip he has coming up.

DH has been looking into purchasing a new truck soon, and the new ones have a place to plug in an MP3 player. How cool is that!!! I want one!

Oh, and another question.... some of the reviews I read on the transmitters said that it doesn't work well if the antenna is at the back of the car, which mine is. Anyone with this kind of experience??

No experience with the rear antennas?

I have the fm transmitter for my Creative- got it at Circuit City- not sure of the brand- Iroady I think?? $40 or so. My antenna is just above my back window- its the VW antenna- whip type. Works fine.

I think the sound is better with the casset adapter though- and use the cassett more in my car, and the transmitor in my K5 and DBF's truck, as they only have CD players

Thanks, all for your info. I appreciate it!

What brand is it, please?

All FM transmitters uses low and high number radio channels. I had bad experience with two transmitters. Then I tried my radio on all these channels. All of them are used by some radio stations. I think that is the reason for the sound quality.

I live in the DC area.
