Ipod for ceremony...what do I need to know??

I have been considering using an ipod for our ceremony music, what things do I need to know before I make my decision? Do I need someone to operate it? Anyone who used one..What did you think of it for your ceremony?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing! I am waiting for my proposal to come back from the wedding planner before I make a decision. It's just as the economy gets worse, my sales continue to drop in my studio, thus leaving me with a smaller and smaller budget.
I think that it could be a good idea. I don't know if the speakers we have will be big enough though. We may have to go with a CD player.

we took our own speakers and saved $250. our best man operated it during the reception but we have a remote control so could do it from our table.

We had the organist at the pavillion for our ceremony

we didnt use ours at the ceremony, we had an uncle of DHs play his keyboard there instead, but we DID use our ipod for the reception in lieu of a DJ and it was the best decision we made on the wedding!!! we saved so much money and we had the music WE wanted. The same uncle that played the ceremony music on his keyboard operated the ipod during the reception. It was seamless and great!

This is exactly why I'm having the ipod setup and not a DJ. Is the music loud enough to dance to?

i think the ipod set up disney provides are proper disco speakers.

We got one of those speaker things from argos for £40 and it was load enough for the whitehall room so saved us even more. we packed it in our suitcases and took a travel plug to plug it in

we used the Disney set up, for Areil's i think it was about $250, maybe $300? (dont have my beo infront of me) and it was PLENTY loud enough!! it sounded GREAT! Like a DJ was there! After our reception we kept talking about how great it was to have the ipod over a DJ! And yes...our guests were out there dancing just like a DJ was there!
