I finally have a car with the AUX jack - yay! I bought a Griffin 3.5mm cable from Wallyworld on Tuesday (hooks into the headphones jack of the ipod) to hook up the ipod to the car and it worked for approx 1 day ... yes, 1 day and now it is not playing. Can anyone suggest a better product that is reasonably priced?

Thanks!

Did the cable actually break of the AUX jack? I've always used a cable from Radio Shack and have never had any issues.

I bought one from Radio-Shack for around $5. It lasted me 12-18 months - but for $5 - I was fine with that.

Me too. I have been using the Radio Shack version for almost 3 years. Good luck!

I have the same one and it's working fine. I think you just got a dud.

We have the radio shack cable too and so far no problems. I am trying to figure out what I need to be able to run the iPod through my radio though. Supposedly with the right hookups, I should be able to control the iPod with the radio controls. I don't see that working with the $10 radio shack plug.

Check in your glove box. There shoudl be a cable in there.

If not, you are right, it wont be a $10 cable to make that happen

You'll need a iPod control cable. Typically they install these into your glove box, so check there. If not, you'll likely need to visit your local car stereo shop and they'll have to install the cable for you. Unfortunately it will be a more then $10.

It's nice though because not only can you control it from your head unit, but it will also keep your iPod or iPhone charged.
