I recently got my first iMac and decided to import all of my digitital pictures into it. Yep all of them, more then ten years worth. From external hard drives to memory cards to old cell phones. Now I have almost 16,000 pictures that I was hoping to organize. :confused3 I began using the "find faces" feature and realized I have a lot of duplicates in my library. Does anybody know of a feature in iPhoto that can help me remove the duplicates. I really want to get my library in order so I can get it organized and move forward. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you don't want to do it manually, there are plugin tools to find and remove duplicates from iPhoto.

Look in the Mac App store for some, too.

wbeem, Thank you very much! I went with the Duplifinder. It worked great, I was able to clear out 5,200 pictures, best $7 I have spent in a while. I never could have guessed about 1/3 of my pictures were duplicates. :thumbsup2
