my contract with verizon is up and my phone seems to have died, so am in the market for a new one. am considering an iphone. any tips/advice? do you love yours/hate it? how is at&t when it comes to service? is there a huge difference between the $199 one and the $299 one?

My contract is also up and I really, really want an iphone. However, I am going to wait it out and get one next year when verizon gets them. (Assuming all the rumors are true.)

I went from a Blackberry to an iPhone. I have mixed feelings about it. It is much better for games. It is about the same as a phone (although I rarely used either as a phone). The Blackberry was much better for e-mail, calendaring, and contact management (assuming that you are connected to an Exchange server). I much perferred the Blackberry for browsing using Opera, but most people I know seem to think that the iPhone is a better browser. That baffles me as I think the iPhone browser looks cool but is a pain to use in the real world.

I'm still glad I switched. I switched my wife to an iPhone and got the kids iPod Touches. This gives us a common platform for apps. That has worked out well. If it was just for me and I planned on using it for business, I'd easily pick the Blackberry. For non-business use, the iPhone is pretty cool.

I  my iphone! The only difference between the $199 (3G) and the $299 (3GS) are that on the 3GS you can take video and you can text from both the up and down position and the sideways position. I opted for the 3G because I don't care about taking video and you can go to apples website and download an upgrade that lets you change the position you text . There might be one other differnece but I can't remember for sure. I went from a blackberry to the iphone and think it is much better then the blackberry. I will have to say that service with at&t is somewhat spotty.....I never lost a call with Sprint when I had them, but lose calls alot with at&t. But the iphone is still worth it in my opinion. If you have any specific questions just ask.
