iPhone, what carrier is better?

I am going to be changing to a new wireless carrier in just a few weeks, I will be getting an iPhone for sure. I am trying to choose between Verizon and AT&T, does the iPhone apps for WDW work for both carriers? The only reason I ask is because when I downloaded My Disney Experience onto my iPad, it said "by AT&T" on it.
All my sisters use AT&T, but my father and his side of the family use Verizon, what is your experience with either carrier? Is one better then the other when it comes to traveling? 95% of our vacations involve Disney some how, WDW, DCL or DLR, just wonder if I should go with one over the other and why. Both work great at my home.
The iPhone will fit in with all my other Apple devices
Thanks!

I have Verizon and have never had any issues with my Disney apps on my iPhone. Sometimes my phone can be a little slow in Disney, but it always works.

Several points to make here:
  • Pick a cell carrier based on where you use the phone the most, not based on where you vacation.
  • When you do vacation at WDW, don't worry because all the major companies have good coverage there.
  • Other people's individual experiences will vary widely depending on when they last went and exactly where they were. Don't take a glowing review (or a bad review) seriously.
  • Read the first point again

You can't go wrong with either one. DD lives in the WDW area and had AT&T with great reception in the parks but not at her massive apartment complex. She changed to Verizon and has no problems in the parks or at her apartment.

Just go with the one that suits you best in your home environment as PP advised.

Ditto to go with which has the better coverage in your area but will add something to think about...

On Verizon you can't talk on the phone and access the Internet at the same time unless on wi-fi. This is a deal breaker for me but YMMV

If you want to be able to access My Disney Experience while talking on your phone, I'd go with att ;)

not if its a 4G phone. Well at least on an andriod Android phone. Not exactly sure about an iPhone.

Thanks everyone for the great reply's. I would get great coverage at home with either carrier, so that part didn't matter. I was considering Verizon and so that is why I asked the question. I am thinking AT & T might offer just a bit more, thanks again

It actually has nothing to do with it being a 4G phone. iPhone is a 4G phone, however sprint and verizon still use 3G (CDMA) networks which don't support simultaneous voice and data transfer.

Android phones have bypassed this issue by adding a second cellular radio inside the device. While one is used to transmit voice the device activates the second to access data transmission.

Apple did not add a second cellular radio to the iPhone

When you say "travelling", if you mean possibly internationally as well, it is my understanding a gsm network is the way to go ie AT&T or Tmobile. For just US, I guess shop the details of the plans.
