iPhone Users - help needed pls

I don't know if this is possible and I just am missing something or if the info is just not there. When I take pics with my iPhone and go back later to my camera roll, is there anywhere on the phone itself where I can see the date the pic was taken?

I just tried and couldn't find any info. Just when it was downloaded to my iPhoto account.

You can find an app for that, but the camera app itself doesn't do it.
