Yes this does have to do with cameras!

I am getting an Iphone on Monday. Someone had posted they knew of some photography programs for the Iphone. For those that own one, do you use any of those programs and which ones and why?

Thanks

I have owned my iPhone since day one and I can say I only use it for quick pics that I keep on the phone and assign to my contacts. With that said I have tried some programs like ieasycamera, smugshot, panolab, sodasnapshots,sp photo lite. most are free or .99 so I do not expect much and for the most part they do not offer that much.
I do not use them very often so I can not give you a detailed review of them.

I have a couple photography related apps on my iphone. 3 are fun toys that work with the iphone 2 are apps for use with my real photography..

the 3 fun ones I downloaded for use with my young nieces...

1. "ClownNose" you take a headshot and it adds a clown nose
2. "Mask Lite" you take a headshot and it adds a mask
3. "Ibobble 3D "you take a headshot and it turns the person into a bobble head

the other 2 are

1. "myPhotoDOF" is a depth of field calculator, you program it for your camera, then pic the lens focal lentgh, aperture distance to subject and it shows you the depth of field...

2. "photo buddy" calculates depth of field, , exposure{gives a list of preset exposures, such as museum, office, stadium, beach etc, you pick one of these, and it shows you camera settings, then you can change one setting such as aperture and it will calculate the neccessary iso and shutter speed for you, it also calculates flash coverage.

has a timer for bulb exposures, and a grey wedge to help white balance your photos, it also gives a list of color temps for various settings if your camera allows you to set WB in K

I don't have an iphone, but I have friends (if you can believe that) that do. If you don't get any more responses, I'll get some info from them. I know one photog friend that has his set up to automatically upload his iphone shots to Smugmug. I also know that Smugmug supports an iphone interface. You would just go to http://yourname.smugmug.com/iphone. In my case, that would be http://photos.barbierifamily.org/iphone. BTW, this "iphone" interface for Smugmug is also useful for users with other mobile browsers like Blackberries.

you can go to the itunes store, search photography, then select apps and see what all is available

I have one that allows me to update to facebook or other apps. I used it on my cruise to get a couple of casual shots because it also includes GPS.

Amazon's new app now lets you take pics of objects and they will find it and give you a price comparison.

How cool! I never thought to look for photo apps beyond the smugmug app. Are these free or paid?

I could have used this over the last couple of weeks. Now I will be spending the days looking at apps, lol!

I honestly don't recall, I've downloaded approximately 60 apps so far, most have been free, a few were either .99 or 1.99

myPhotoDOF is 1.99

photo buddy is 1.99

Smugmug is a free app.

I have downloaded over 100 apps almost all are FREE. Most of the apps are decent apps and are well worth the price :rotfl2:

Start with the free ones and try them out and see what you like and go from there..
