Is the faster speed of the new generation iphones worth the cost of an upgrade. I have the 1st generation phone and the internet is slow. Reminds me of the old dial up days. Is the new 3g network that much faster to spend additional dollars on the phone and the additional $10 a month fee? My old phone would go to my son who is now ready for an iphone and it uses, but not ready with the cash for a new phone!

Do some research on this. DH says it's something AT&T did - increased bandwith for the 3G, resulting in less for the 1G, meaning slower speeds. So it's not necessarily a phone problem. AT&T has been getting lots of complaints.
