I know I will love it, but I can't seem to make myself change carriers! AND have a bigger bill! I would have to go over to AT&T but wouldnt change my family from what we have. They would keep two lines.

How much are we talking?? Make me!!

I love my iPhone and found the cost to be comparable to other carriers. Why would you not switch your family also? They offer family plans at AT&T. And don't forget you normally can keep your current cell number.

who do you use now? We used Tmobile, we still do. I have an Iphone unlocked. I don't do internet but we pay $53/month for 2 lines with 500 shared minutes, all the nights and weekends we want and unlimited to other tmobile.

The 53 is after all the taxes/fees.

You'd be surprised how many wifi spots there are.

I paid $140 bucks for my iphone on ebay. 2g, 8gb. Not the best, but it's nice. I enjoy not having to haul my ipod plus phone around. I am NEVER without my ipod.

If you have more money than I do to spend on phone plans, then just do the 2 plan thing, but I wasn't going to part with 70/month or whatever for another plan when we were/are happy with our 50/month plan for 2 lines.

FWIW

One doesnt want it at all. The other, too young. So just me.

Depending on what you are doing, a different smartphone might be best for you, rather than an IPhone.

I use gadets!! I need internet on my phone now. I would love apps!! I use alarm, calendar.. etc. I have Verizon now, lot of friends have Verizon too so that would be tough to give up, all the unlimited stuff. BUT....

We have an iPhone and a Blackberry and I've started calling my Blackberry the Nintendo 64 because it seems so old fashioned and out of date. But I need it for my work (and they pay for it) so I won't be giving that up. I love the functionality, ease of use, and viewing of the iPhone. Just looking at the latest news is a breeze (I'm a current event junky) with the apps available. I think my only complaint is that I'm not nuts about the keyboard. That may be because I'm used to the BB.

AT&T charges $30 for the Internet service for smartphones (iPhone and all others) plus your rate plan for minutes. Since we don't have a home phone and rely stictly on cell our bill after taxes and fees runs about $115 for the single line. In our view it is well worth it. We also got the 8G phone for $99 when we upgraded our plan.

IMO it really is great and all the talk isn't just hype. I just wish businesses would adopt it so I could have one for work too.

I stayed with Verizon and bought a Droid because AT&T just doesn't have the coverage outside of major metropolitan areas.
I was worried that there wouldn't be as many apps available to me, but I have now discovered that I don't have the time to "play" with more apps than I already have!
Verizon is selling their top smart phones 2 for 1 right now...

Now, if I lived on the East Coast where there are lots of metro areas, I probably would have gotten an iPhone because I am a MacHead!:cool1:

Good luck!

Doooooooooo it........dooooooo it!

There, did that work for you?

Seriously though, I think it will be a while before another platform offers such a great range of apps. I'm sure others will disagree, but from what I've heard from my Blackberry friends (booooooo!), the Iphone is staying ahead for now.

I've heard good things about the Android, but everytime I hear that word I just think of the Cylons from Caprica / Battlestar for some weird reason. Guess I'm a bit nuts tho :rotfl: ..... that's the effect Yvet has on me ;)

I'm still on the fence. Wondering if the money will be worth it...

Do it, do it! I was verizon customer until about 3 weeks ago. It is pricey at first. I got the 16G. I paid $430 for the phone, blue tooth, case and car charger. I got to keep my number and AT&T did the cancellation with Verizon for me. Your first bill will have a $35 activation fee. I got the cheapest plan which is $80 that includes the data plan and I added the $20 unlimited texting. The apps are not added to your bill, but they are charged to your iTunes account.

You will never be bored again. You must follow your corporate masters a get an iPhone.

I can't say enough about the iPhone. Search for a thread of mine from last spring and you'll see about 20 pages of people convincing me to get it. It took five weeks for me to committ to getting one due to the increase in price, but I've never looked back. It is well worth it!
