Iphone apps for the parks

I just downloaded a couple of WDW apps to my iphone - thought others may want to do the same. One is a Wait Times listing that is updated constantly and relies on visitors to input wait times (I think)! Another is the WDW Times guide and another is WDW Dining that lists every eatery and the menus!!!!

I also find the upoint maps to be really useful and WDW pal also help me keep a track of dining credits.

There was a lot of discussion about the wait times iphone apps on a few threads.

The major problem is that without a certain critical mass of users with iphones (not Itouches) constantly entering wait times the data in app's grows old quickly.

I hope it works out but with 3 or 4 apps competing for your data I don't see how it will.

I have an iPod Touch and I would love to hear more apps that would be useful at WDW with the Touch or iPhone. Please keep them coming!!!

You don't need wi-fi if you have the iphone. It pulls it from the at&t network.

I was looking at WDW pal but it has low ratings. Do you like the app?

I haven't used it much yet, but I think I would use it more when I am actually there to track my dining credits.

The app I like is the Times Guide, just like you get from the front of the parks. Tells show times, park times, etc. Even though I'm not going til December, I sit around and pretend..... checking out what I might be doing if I were there now. Sad, huh? :confused3

I do the same thing. :)

LOL, it's OK to daydream!

I think the only ones that you would really want WiFi/real time information pulls for would be the ride wait times....the others I think are fine without. I could be wrong, though!

SuperSuperWendy - I have the Instinct also, but get an ipod touch! You can get all the apps - it's awesome!

I have: WDW Today, WDW Dining, WDW Times Guide, WDW Notescast, maps for all four parks, Wait Watchers for all four parks, & WDW Pal. Am I missing anything? :lmao:

The Mini Guides put out by Upoint maps is awesome! We use it on the iTouch. For $3.99 you get maps of all four parks and DTD - Blizzard Beach is coming soon. It lists all the rides/restaurants/parade sites. You can then go to each attraction/eatery and rank its priority for your trip! I found this app from on of the mom's on the Disney's Mom Panel.

That's all we've used, can't speak for anything else, but can say I highly recommend as no wi-fi is needed to access!

DH has the maps on his. Love it!!! And it's so much simpler than pulling out the big paper map.

We have the Wait Watchers. I have to say that when people are contributing to it, I love it. It needs more users!!!!!

I've been wondering if it's possible to use the apps everyone talks about on an iTouch instead of iPhone. I may get DH an iTouch for Christmas. We use Verizon (and don't want to switch) so an iPhone isn't an option.

From posts on this thread, it seems as though you can use the same apps, except any that would need constant updating. Or does the iTouch have the ability to connect somehow with out being a phone? I'm clueless!!! :rotfl:
