Hi, being a non-US user, I am interested in the iphone app options that do not consume data roaming. All the waiting times apps - do they require internet? Are there any good apps that give information offline..? Thanks for any replies! I look forward to going to WDW towards the end of this year!

Hey! I have the same problem as I have an ipod touch and not an iphone so I need apps without internet.
For my ADRS I've downloaded WDWpal which is free and keeps you up with your dining plan and also where in WDW you can have dining discounts, and information about louges and bars in the world.
I purchased another WDW dining app called Disney World Dining plan by Ricky Mills which costs 0,79 euros, and gives you restaurants info without an internet connection.

Thanks for those recommendations, I shall try it out!

We use the Undercover Tourist App, it's great but does require a Wifi signal or 3g. We usually look at the app the night before for predictions of which park will be busy and take it from there, I would be gutted if I came home with a bill for lots of ££ for checking the wait times!

Yes thats my worry too. But if you turn your data roaming off, I suppose there is no chance for a surprise bill, right? But yes, the app would not be of much use if I cannot use it during the day.

No not really but.......... to be fair we have only really had apps for the last few years and we all managed to get on rides without having a phone with us for many years before, the boards throughout the parks are always the mosot accurate guides as apps are so reliant on the users adding their information correctly.

Personally I like the detachment from my iphone when I'm away. Both myself and DH have them attached to us almost permanently for business so it's nice to lock them away for our vaca! :goodvibes

yeah, thats true..but the iphone is like one of those ads for the sky+ box - You are ok if you don't have it. But, once you have seen what it can do, you cannot live without it!

Oh yeah sure, I know exactly what you are saying! It's totally true, but for 3 weeks of the year I can live without it! :lmao:

Are you doing all the parks on your trip? Have you thought about Tour Guide Mike? It's supposed to be good for planning a strategy round the parks.

We have 2 weeks and I am hoping to do all the parks..(Is that too much to ask ??)
Tour guide mike? I googled that, it came up with VIP tour guides, is that a personal tour guide or some sort of software?

I think you'll be able to tour all the parks at best in two weeks, we are doing the same for two weeks too :cool1:.
I have "Lines" which is an app that comes with touring plans, but I believe you have to be online to use the app

:yay: I just downloaded that allez app (from the video). It gives me a birds eye view of the whole area, so I kind of understand the layout of the parks a bit more...like where the hotels are situated geographically etc..Im getting to know it a bit more, I think its going to be useful for me..lets see..will keep you posted.
