Well that answers my question, even though I bought my iPhone 3GS last year at launch I can upgrade for the $199 +$18 for the 16GB iPhone 4. I was kind of hoping I couldn't then there would not be any decision.

I woke up around 4AM ET (regular hours) and pre-ordered via my AT&T Premier business account for 2 iPhone 4 (32gb) - two separate credit card transactions - easy process completed in 10 minutes shipped to my house.

Note: White iPhone 4 currently unavailable for pre-order or in-store pickup for both Apple and AT&T. Reason: please ask Apple.

Well, logged in to the AT&T Premier site to preorder my iPhone 4, and sure enough, they weren't there. I could order a shiny new 3GS 8GB, but no iPhone 4. I was hoping they would allow online orders, but they apparently are sticking hard and fast to the "employees can't have one yet" rule. I'm gonna try the Apple online store, after it's done crashing!

Well after checking this morning that I was indeed eligible for the upgrade pricing I decided what the heck I will preorder. Now I can't get in the site it must be getting slammed.

Aah. Just got back from AT&T. I will say, I was a little disappointed the white iPhone was unavailable for pre-order. Sure I could have waited until the 24th and got it then but I am one who likes things to be complete and done with so I don't have to worry about them. Much like my Disney vacations!

Finally, I completed & paid for my preorder on apple's site. It took 6.5hrs but the effort paid off. I ended up with 2 phones in my cart so with all the site errors 2 of them stuck. Then the trouble was getting rid of one before I could check out.

I was going to add the bumper to the order, but the ship date is not until 7/2. I did not want to take a chance and have the iPhone delayed til the case ships.

For those who are still trying stick with it. I am still trying to get a preorder in for my BIL.

They said most likely yes. But you wouldn't be able to order the black and then switch it out. Which some guy wanted to do.

Well it said my upgrade order went through I printed it out, but have not received an email yet. I hope I am able to keep the unlimited bandwidth and it doesn't force me to downgrade.

I have not received an email confirmation yet either, but it shows up when I look at my order status. Unless you choose to change for plan during the ordering process you keep the unlimited data plan. Look under the items in your order/rate plan section of the print out. Mine reads: No voice plan changes unlimited - $30.

Go back to http://store.apple.com click on Account and click on Order Status. enter your email and password and you should see your pending order.

Question...if you are reserving it and plan to pick it up at the Apple Store, do you pay when you pick it up? I reserved it on-line (I think), but I did not have to pay...

Kevin - the next screen I got asks where I want to pick it up and I have to choose an Apple location.

I upgraded/ordered through AT&T and can't see the order online. However, it does state that it could take 24hours to show up. If I remember correctly last year I didn't actually receive the confirmation email until early the next morning.

Man what a pain. I got up at 5:30 this morning and tried to order from Att website. I get thru to the point of processing order then time out. I tried it again then the same thing happend. Then i give it a shot for the third time and bam no apple products on att website. Plus i look at my upgrade status it say I cannot upgrade till 2012. I really started to freak out. Then to top it off I recieved an email from att saying my order was canceled.
So i waited til 7:00 am when att operators were open for service. I called and bam got some help. She checked and said my order had gone thru the first time and gave me my order number. So I now have 2 new phones comming on the 24th. Sweet
