I just got an iPad 2 and I'm wondering if I should get a screen protector to cover the glass screen. Do you guys use one or do you just use a normal case with no plastic protector?

Apple cover only for me. No screen protector.

No protector for me, just the apple case. I did just get a screen protector for my HTC EVO, and I didn't think I would like it, but I really don't mind it at all.

Nice case, no screen protector. I'm not overly thrilled with the one on my iPod touch... And I never carry the iPad without the case.

No screen protector......just an Oberon leather cover.

My iPad never leaves the house without the cover.

:) DH is going to try and order ours tonight or tomorrow. I think I am going with the orange flip top cover that is advertised. I do not think we are getting screen protectors. How long do ya'll think it will take for delivery?

I purchased my iPad2 last nite after standing on line for 2.5 hrs . . . however, despite the very long line I think the unit is worth the wait from v1 based on my initial testing after my purchase . . . albeit a costly purchase. I purchased the black leather cover to keep consistent with the look of the same color iPad.

Now . . . does anyone have recommendations for the protective travel case . . . I forgot to purchase the protective travel case last nite . . . any recommendations?

I have a black apple case and I also have a screen protector. I think it is called invisa-shield. I bought it at best buy for about $30.

Thanks for the responses. I think i'm going to skip the protector for now.:goodvibes

No screen protector. Amazing how well the glass stays perfect!

The only case for travel and storage has been a plain brown bubble padded mailing envelope cut to exact size. Has worked very well and has the added advantage of disguising an expensive device for a very low cost!

I love my screen protector. Use the, for my iPhone and iPad. Phone is a couple years old and looks brand new thanks to the protector. I also have a case for the iPad (two actually-a white Encase one and a lighter-weight black one from Apple).

From what I've read, a screen protector is not necessary. That being said, I have one for peace of mind! Especially on those occasions when the kids leave stickyish fingerprints all over and I can just wipe away without worry. Edited to add...if you do go for a protector, don't get a glare-free one! I ended up throwing it away after about two weeks of frustration. It caused the screen to be very pixelly. I got a nice, clear one. I went higher end, and have been very happy!

I have ghost armor on mine, and really like it. Although after reading the posts, I wonder what it would be like to be armor free.

Thanks again for the input. Like many others I stood in line for about two hours on Friday to get it. I didn't buy the first iPad for myself but we all pitched in and bought one for my mom last Christmas. While were were visiting my folks in Florida I used hers almost every day. I enjoyed it so much that i decided to put aside a little bit of money whenever I could to get my own. So far it was a great decision. I love this thing:banana:

I have an Oberon cover for my kindle and my iPad. I :love:my Oberon covers. unfortunately they haven't come out with one for my phone yet, but they will:cloud9: Thanks Kevin for turning me on to them. P

I have a screen protector on mine. I don't even know it is there. My husband doesn't have one... I don;t think they are necessary. I have a three pack, so I'll use them, but I won't probably spend money on more when they get old or destroyed.

I have a screen protector on ours. It came with the Otterbox Defender case. We give the iPad to our three year old all the time. She can be pretty rough with it.

Looking at the screen right now, I can see some faint scratches on the screen protector. Of course that doesn’t necessarily mean that the glass would have been scratched. Still, I feel more comfortable giving it to the kids when I know it is pretty well protected.

Wouldn't it be cool if the cover/case for the iPad was called a "peel"?

Get it? The cover of an apple it the peel!
