DH and I gave each other the iPad Mini for Christmas this year. I really need to find a case for it. What case do you have and what is the best kind? Anyone know of any great deals on them right now? Thanks:thumbsup2
We looked at a couple at Target, but they seemed a bit flimsy. Just don't know what would be the best for protection and carrying around places.

All of our tablets have Otterboxes on them.

Thanks. I guess I didn't realize they had cases for iPads. We have Otterboxes on our phones. I will look at the cases for the iPads.
Anyone else?

Griffin Survivor case. Pretty much the same as Otterbox, but cheaper and retailmenot.com usually has a coupon

We bought the Griffin Survivors for my nephews' minis. I got the black ones for $28 by having Target price match Amazon. Amazon prices change frequently so check them often if you want to do a price match.

Amazon has a ton of various cases, mostly cheaper than retail stores. I really like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-SLIMLI...qid=1388802590&sr=8-1&keywords=iPad+mini+case

It's very lightweight, and provides enough protection for my needs. Personally, I think an Otterbox on an iPad mini defeats the whole purpose of a small and lightweight device. The Otterbox itself weighs more than the iPad mini. Of course, if you have a kid playing with it, it makes sense.

I have the Otter Box for my iPad Mini... I am just an Otter Box fan in general. It seems to do a good job protecting. I guess it is a bit heavy, but I think it is worth it to protect the iPad from my clumsy self.

I'd get the otterbox. We were trying to figure out which one to get and I watched some YouTube videos on them. In one, They threw iPad minis off a roof in Otterbox and Griffin Survivors. The otterbox case was totally intact and the iPad screen did not crack or break (the iPad wasn't working right though from just the impact force itself) but the Griffin Survivor the case was all broken and the iPad screen was smashed. Now hopefully you aren't going to throw the iPad off the roof and the griffin may be absolutely fine for regular use and a short drop, but the videos still convinced me the otterbox was worth the extra money. We do the otterbox for stuff a kid will be messing with or that will be carried around with us alot, but for something that will mostly just be used at home by adults, we don't usually mess with something that heavy duty.

We have the Griffin on our Ipad and my daughters have thrown it on our tile floor on multiple occasions and it has protected the ipad perfectly. We just got the mini for my older daughter for xmas and I got the Otterbox for it. It actually has a case around it and a outer hard shell that it all snaps into as well. Seems more sturdy. But ours are being played with by 6 and 2 yr olds, you might not need that much protection.

I bought both of them on ebay. The recent otterbox was $45 I think.

Thanks! Going to look at these suggestions now :goodvibes

I have and love this case from brookstone. It allows me to have it stand either in portrait or landscape mode. (I use this when eating breakfast or when I am using the iPad for a recipe I'm making.). I've had it for over a year now. It is lightweight and offers good protection, the few times I have dropped it.

I have otter boxes on our iPhones and love them, however, for me personally, I didn't want bulk but wanted protection just in case. Having the mini for a year, I have found that it isn't as droppable as the iPhone....lol....if that makes any sense. I have dropped it, mostly do to putting it on the edge of a surface but not as much as the small iPhone. Anywho. I am pretty much the sole user too.

Have fun with your mini, I love the size and weight of it...definitely my favorite thing :-)
