Hello :)
We are planning a day at IOA during our upcoming trip to disney 12/8-12/16. My kids are DS9 (HUGE HP fan!), DD7 (also HP fan but ride chicken) and DS4. All 3 kids can ride the Flight of the Hippogriff, DS9 and I will ride HP and Forbidden Journey, and probably nobody will do Dragon Challenge. It doesn't seem like that many rides/attractions for my 4 year old and daughter who does not like scary/thrill rides at all. I know it will be cool to see Hogsmeade etc but I'm just wondering if there is anything else for my family to do in IOA. Seussland? I really want to go because I can't imagine being right there by WWoHP (from NY) and not taking my 9 year old who LOVES HP to see it. Also, how long should we plan on spending at IOA, not being a "thrill ride" family? Any US veterans that can offer any suggestions/advice, I would welcome it all! Thanks so much!! :-)

That should be a slow time to visit. So I would suggest getting there at park opening, head straight to WWOHP. If you are paying for tickets anyway, I wouldn't just go to on section of the park alone. Walk around the rest, spend the day, and later go back to WWOHP for a ride before leaving.

I think it is a shame that people just want HP and toss the rest of the park aside. There is some level of disservice there :scratchin :)

GO and have a nice day, see it all, it is doable in one day see all the major things at that time of the year.

I actually asked the opposite of this. What else is there that a 4 year old, ride chicken 7 year old and 9 year old would like? I know there are a lot of roller coasters but that may be too much for my kids.

Thanks!

Seuss Landing is filled with rides for the little ones. They can also go on Pteranadon Flyers, Stormforce Acceletron, play in the play areas of If I ran the Zoo, Me Ship the Olive and Jurassic Park. The can also explore in the Jurassic Park Discovery Centre that is an interactive museum.

Check out www.universalorlando.com for ride descriptions, photos and videos.

There is also the superhero parade (well it is really just a motorcycle cavalcade) where the superheroes will pose for photos and autographs with the little ones. So if they like superheros at all, this can be very fun.

Ok, lets start with
Seuss Landing:
Daily shows (times listed on website)
many rides and play areas
Lost Continent:
The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad
The Mystic Fountain
Poseidon's Fury (DS4 would not like this)
Henna Tatoos
WWoHP:
Take picture with Hogswarts Express conductor
Sit in the Owlery and people watch (theme music and look up in the rafters)
Across from the Owlery is a Ladies Bathroom(Moaning Myrtle can be heard in here)
Ollivanders (all of you will love this)
Triwizard Spirit Rally
Frog Choir
Take the castle tour that is for non-riders of Forbidden Journey
See the Weasley's car at the whomping willow on the path to the Dragon Challenge (you take this and not have to ride)
Tour the Three Broomsticks and Tavern next to it, go around back and sit at the tables on the patio with a great view of the river and castle
Visit all of the stores
Jurassic Park:
Camp Jurassic (play ground)
Discovery Center (Below Burger Digs)
Enjoy the sights and sounds just walking along the paths
Toon Lagoon:
Me Ship, The Olive (fun for climbing and exploring and to see the park from the top of the ship)
Fun to walk and sight see through the Lagoon
Marvel Island:
Meet Spider-Man & the Marvel Super Heroes
Spider-Man ride for DS9 (they have a single rider line)

Ok, so you get the idea; go-watch-listen-ride.
