IOA vs US

Incuded in our WDW package for my DD14 dance team is one ticket each for either IOA or US. We see things at both parks she would love and are having trouble deciding.

Or would we be able to upgrade our ticket at the park to like a 2-park one day ticket for an additional fee.

We do plan on buying the express pass.

You can upgrade to one day/two park. If your tickets aren't discounted tickets it will only cost around $10. If you tickets are discounted tickets, you will have to pay the difference between a regularly priced one day/one park ticket and a one day/two park ticket which might be as much as $20.

You can do the US version of the park hopper but depending on what you like to do, I think I would recommend doing IOA. The rides are better, they are more thrilling. US has more shows and evern some of the rides are somewhat lame. IOA is one of the best parks that I have been too. I just wish they would add another coaster or two.
