Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the Universal side of the board, but I offered to take my 13 year old brother to a park of his choice for his birthday and he chose IOA. We've both been a few times but I just have a few questions about tickets and such.

Now we live about an hour and a half south so we won't be spending the night in Orlando. I checked the Universal web-site and it reports park hours being from 9-10 p.m. Does anything special go on at night or is it just the same as in the daytime? We've never stayed past 6 in the evening so being there after the sun goes down might be worth it. Is it? I'd think some of the rides would be great at night time... any suggestions? We're planning on doing a full day be there when the park opens and maybe stay till closing. Any advice?

Also on the official web-site I can advance order our tickets at $49.95 a piece. Is that the same price I'd pay at the gate? Has anyone ever done this and if so would you mind sharing your experience(s) with me?

In our group will be my brother (13) and my boyfriend and myself (both 19). As I said my brother and I have both been before but my boyfriend is a transplant from Louisiana, and has only been to Universal Studios last year for Halloween Horror Nights. Any suggestions for Not To Miss Attractions, Food, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

If you are planning any return trips, right now one of the best offers in memory is available. You can buy a two park annual pass and have an extra year added for free when you present a losing Universal Rules Florida Lottery Ticket. That's two years for $169 per person. Since you live so close, you're sure to take advantage of it.

They got the fireworks show at night which is pretty good... Hulk, Dr. Doom, Dueling Ds, P Flyers, JPRA, and believe it or not, Caro-Suess-Al are good rides to try in the dark. It's a lot of fun just to see the park lit up and try the rides in a different setting... I suggest you try it at least once.

To answer your question about ordering on-line - I don't know if there's a price difference, but I ordered tickets for my family from the Universal site. We received them via regular post office mail about 3 days later - theyincluded the tix, a receipt, and a US/IOA park brochure. I think the postage charge was $3.00 (total, not per ticket), so if there's no price difference between gate and Web, you're probably better off buying at the gate.

Thanks for the suggestions! We'd heard about the Scratch off Ticket deal but I had one last year and didn't get as much use out of it as I would have liked. But thanks for the reminder!

I'm looking forward to being there at night, I just did some scowering and got us a room at the old Delta Resort- now the Orlando Resort Maingate at Universal. So we will be doing the park till closing! yay!

The price for on-line was 49.95, which I think is cheaper by about 5 dollars to the gate price but since we're going tomorrow that wouldn't work. For some reason I seem to remember being able to print out a confirmation of some sort instead of or to get an actual ticket, but I think we'll just stick to the gate.

Also I forgot to ask about 2 other things, wheelchairs and lockers. I have a very bad foot injury and we were thinking about renting a wheel chair for me. I wouldn't need a dr. note would I? Anyone know the price of a rental? Any tips or ideas would be great!

One more thing, how do the lockers work? I remember seeing some at the big rides like Hulk and stuff but can't remember if they were for a limited time or what. Would we be able to get one for the whole day and what would the price be? What's the average size of one of these lockers also?

I think that's it for now... thanks so much!
