Is this somewhere I can take 3 adult friends (mid-30s, childfree) who are not fond of roller coasters?? They will ride tamer rides, but I doubt I'll get them on the big coasters. Is there enough for them to see, esp. if we get one day, 2-park tickets? I've never been myself, but I love coasters! I definitely want to go, but how do I sell it to them?

If you are planning on doing both parks there are plenty of things that can be done. IOA alone I wouldn't say yes.

IOA only has two big coasters (three if you count both sides of Dueling Dragons) and one kiddie coaster. It also has several water rides, a free fall ride, a show and kid rides and the best ride anywhere IMO, Spiderman. It's worth it to me just for Spiderman.

How would I describe it to my friends e.g. compare it to a coaster ride

I need to be able to convince them it is worth it even if you're not a coaster fan!

I am 43...can't do coasters and I love IOA. Plenty to see and do for your friends while you ride the coasters.

Stay onsite..so you can get fotl access, and they won't have to wait for you long at all.

I go to Universal parks with a friend who will NOT go near coasters or rides with drops. She loves the Universal Parks. Go to the Universal website. They give detailed descriptions of all the attractions.

Describing it could be interesting...how about like being in a car with a super-hydraulic system???

Or if they've been on Star Tours or Back to the Future, you could say it's stimilar to that, but that it also moves on a track.

I would probably emphasize that it is something on the ground and doesn't go into the air (even though it makes you feel like you're in the air).

Take them on Cat in the Hat first. :p Then let them know that Spider-Man is like that, except instead of animatronics, it has 3-D movie screens. It's just a vehicle on a track with great hydraulics. :)

By the way...I can do spiderman, but not star tours or body wars at WDW. Spiderman was excellent.

I would say that spiderman is the most amazing ride ever well ahead of its time people come off wondering just how far they travelled and how much is imaganation:jester:

OK, I'm in the minority I'm sure, but after all the hype I heard about Spiderman, I wasn't all that impressed. I liked it and all, but it didn't wow me. Maybe I had too high of expectations, but the 3-D wasn't that great, and we just got jerked around alot while in front of different 3-D screens. Though, the last one was pretty cool where it felt like you were falling off the building, but overall all it wasn't amazing....just pretty good....in my opinion.
