Thinking about taking a day out of our September Disney trip to go to IOA for a day. We have two boys ages 6 and 4 who love the Marvel superheroes and was wondering if people thought its worth the money to go for a day. Thanks!

One day at IOA for your boys? Oh yes. They will feel so special after all the animation oriented Disney stuff they will love you for it. Action! Adventure! Superheros! I have three daughters and my youngest, my son, loved IOA. It was HIS element for a change.

I saw my son's eyes sparkling with pleasure when he first saw Spiderman and he was quite a bit older. It's fun and easy to meet the superheroes.

Awesome! Thanks everyone. I think I am going to add it to our plans now. I know they will be excited to see all the characters. Anyone have tips on the best way to get from Disney's POFQ to IOA without a car? I know there is probably another forum for this but I wanted to check here too and see if anyone has done it before.

there are superheroes that have a mini parade each day.
they arrive on atv's and do meet and greets w/photo ops after they come to marvel land.

my boys loved it as littles and still now.

macraven, is it always the same superheros or different ones? My "kids" 21 & 16 want all of us to wear superheros t shirts when we go. :rolleyes1 It would be fun to make sure we have the ones in the parade.

Sorry Mac I'm correcting you. Lol

There are 6 Super Heroes on 3 wheeled vehicles. But before that I believe there are to villains that are around at first. This gives the appearance of the villains being chased off by the super heroes.

Here is a list:

Heroes:

Spider-Man
Captain America
Wolverine
Storm
Cyclops
Rogue

Villians:
Green Goblin
Dr. Doom

I had tears in my eyes with my dd at CRT and met Cinderella the same goes when my ds met Captain America. I still get misty thinking about it. The show they put on with the cars and motorcycles was FABULOUS and the character interaction great!! IOA is just as amazing as the MK when it comes to making you feel like you a part of the magic! If you have a Marvel fan this is going to be a huge hit...worth every penny!!

If you hang out in the Marvel area before a show you can meet and interact with them a little easier than after the show. We were waiting for DD and DH to get off a ride when they started coming out. Dr Doom(I think that's who it was) literally came up right behind my son and stood there waiting for him to notice while we were sitting on the street eating a snack....his face was priceless:lmao: He was a little scared of the green goblin...he was just sitting in a window(people weren't noticing him there yet) and he wanted to go up to him and he made me go with. I will admit he made some freaky noises that creeped me out a little, but other than that he ran up to all of them.

My kids love Spiderman, Cpt. America and Wolverine so I know this will be a blast. I was worried that since Disney owns Marvel now that they wouldn't have the characters walking around anymore. Thanks everyone for the info!

Disney owns them but Universal still has all the rights in theme parks.

Do the Villians come out regularly? My past two trips there, I've only seen the superheros, but would love to get pics and autographs fro the villains

The reason why as they are not announced unlike the superheroes. The whole point of the villains is they come out to terrorize everyone quietly. They are normally right around the arcade front and the exit of Spiderman. As soon as the sirens go off they start running away. They try to finish the last few pictures with help of a TM before they run off. They are both great to have photos with. Doom is all about dominance and Goblin is about scare and comedy.

I won't hold you to it.

Assuming the mini parade is listed as a "show"?

I don't think so. It's not really a parade but a nice meet and greet entrance that happens I believe atleast once an hour but not 100% sure.

I do know normally walking threw that area you can hear the sirens and TM's clearing the roads. Everyone on the sidewalks until they arrive. Ask any TM in the area about their appearance.
