IoA in the rain?

Well, it looks like we'll be trudging through a monsoon on our trip to Orlando and I was wondering how IoA does in the rain? I understand lightning will close certain things, but how do the rides fare in just rain?

Not bad,but lightning will close down all outdoor rides of coarse.FJ is inside along with,Cat in The Hat,Spidy,Posieden and Storm.Good time to check out JP Discovery.

Now just rain,all rides will be going.But a slight rain on the Hulk feels like hail hitting ya,trust me!!

The crowds do thin out if its a steady rain,which is a good thing.Just buy or bring a poncho..

They only close the rides that are "outside", like Hulk, when there is lightning within a 5 mile radius. Once the lightning is gone, they reopen the rides, even if it is raining.

Everything outside can run in the rain (except Hulk, sometimes the rain messes with the ride's launch system). Everything outside will close if there is lightning within 5 miles.

And...just in case you're staying onsite, and if the storm gets scary as you're leaving...the boat system shuts down when there's lightning within 5 miles.

And you cannot stand under the *metal* structure at the boat docks.

BUT, and this is something we found out after waiting for the boats then finding out they'd shut down, then waiting under the metal structure for another 10 minutes (not actually realizing it was metal), then being told to Get Out, then waiting in a freezing cold store while dripping wet from the run from point A to point B for half an hour, then another 10 minutes back under the structure b/c we *thought* the lightning was gone and things were running again, BUT there are bus/shuttles that go to the resorts!

So if it's a scary storm, while you're leaving, and you're staying onsite and you were going to take the boats...just catch the shuttle instead. Ask a TM where they are. Don't wait to be told an HOUR after the first TM told you the boats were closed, to find it out.

Rain happens. Go. Have fun... it's just rain. And in between the showers ride the coasters.
