IOA if you don't like roller coasters?

Hi

As someone who is not into rollercoasters and such, do you think it would be a waste of money for me to go to IOA? I would love to do the Spiderman ride but am unsure if that would be the only thing I would be able to do (it would be an expensive ride ::yes:: )

A tricky one!

We went as a family last trip, and eldest DD and I (the non-coaster fans) enjoyed the visit, and I'm very glad I went (I had wondered whether to spend the time in US instead). The whole park has wonderful theming and there's a lot to 'soak up' without doing any of the big rides. Whether that's enough to be good value, I don't know.

I have always maintained that the WDW parks are worth visiting even if you don't do many / any of the main attractions, just for the atmosphere and extra touches. Personally, I don't have the same feeling about the USF parks, but I know that there are plenty of others here on the boards who like them as much, or more than Disney. We're all different!

Having been once, I'm not itching to go again but I will, undoubtedly, tag along with the rest of the family next time we visit :)

I would visit!!!
I hate big thrill rides

This is a great park, and spiderman is the best!

I'm not a huge coaster fan - did Hulk once, and will never do it again :scared1: - but I love IOA. Spiderman is just amazing, cannot be missed IMHO. There loads of great other rides at IOA that aren't coasters - and I just love the atmosphere and theming - and the shopping!!!;)

:teeth:

I tell you pay to go in Go and ride Spiderman leave the park and you can say youve been on the best ride in the world.....

There are only really 2 rollercoasters in IOA (unless you count the flying unicorn which is really a kiddie coaster).

We dont do rollercoasters but IOA is still a good day out.

IOA is a great park, Spiderman already mentioned is brilliant - but Jurassic Park and Popeye's barges are also very good and neither fit into the roller coaster category.

Funny but I don't really like coasters either but the one ride at IOA that makes me feel a bit off colour is 'The cat in the hat' which is a kiddies ride, it's the spinning around that does it..my little boy loves it but going on it about 4 times one after another I feel a bit sickly to say the least :-)

I would go to IOA - I don't like big coasters and neither do my children - I agree with the 'spinning' on the cat in the hat ride - but then again I have go on it so many times every visit so it's no wonder I feel dizzy.

My DH does not do coasters - and he loves IOA. Spidey really is a must, like everyone says.

The themeing around the park is brilliant, as are the shows. There so many "little" things to stop and look at, like the talking fountain, the scenery.

Bet you'll have a great time:sunny:

spiderman is a no go if you have motion sickness problems, so keep that in mind...
also, no one in my family liked spiderman (heresy i suppose)..

having said that, IOA still is a fun morning.......

the rides we like:
-- dudley dooright - it's a nice logflume....not as nicely themed as splash mountain but still fun

-- pluto's bilge barge - a raft ride (you will get totally soaked)

-- jurassic park ride- this is probably the best themed ride in the park...another boatride with a drop at the end....nicely done...

-- jurassic park visiter center - this is very very nice....my kids (17 and 19) spent a good hour here, maybe more....my husband and i drank cokes and rested upstairs, while the kids did whatever it was they were doing downstairs...it's a nice replica of the visiter center in the movie....

those are the only rides we like....which doesn't sound like that much, but still we enjoyed our visit....
my son and husband also very much like the hulkcoaster, so maybe you should try it even if you don't like coasters....they hated dueling dragons....
