We are having a hard time talking my mother into IOA - she thinks there are only major rollercoasters and big thrill rides.

I keep telling her that is NOT all that is there. I know she would do fine with the log type rides and wouldn't have any problems but I have only been once myself and know I missed a lot.

I keep telling her Spiderman is awesome but not sure this is enough to have her pay the "$50" just to get in .... what else is there to do ?

My wife is a "chicken" as well and she enjoys IOA. She rode Spiderman, the Barges, all the Seuss landing rides and saw all the shows. There is plenty to do even for the chickens...LOL

Have fun.

I am a not a roller coaster person...and I love IOA...it is definately worth the money. She will want to go on Spiderman...nothing to scare her there...just spectacular.

The decor/atmosphere...everything inside IOA lots of fun. Once you return and start talking about it, she will be sorry she missed it if she doesn't go with you.

She would also like Poseidon's Fury (cool effects). We didn't do the 2 big coasters and Dr. Doom and my husband bowed out on Jurassic Park, but I'm a middleaged "chicken" who has to watch the motion sickness and I loved this park!

I can think of only 4 things to avoid.

Dueling Dragons
Hulk
Back To The Future (could be done but it is one she may consdier not doing)
Dudley DoRight

I have a great time at IOA and I never ride the coasters. The other rides and attractions are plenty to fill a day.
I agree with JessicaR, but I will ride Back to the Future. Dudley DoRight is okay if you like getting very wet.
I was very impressed by the attention to detail and themeing they have in IOA. I'd say go, if only to just look at the various Island.

We watched PBH on the Travel Channel recently and they showed the Hulk and DD. DH really likes roller coasters but only if he doesn't get turned upside down. Are there any other coasters that keep your head above your feet?! :p

Thanks!

It's new so I have seen it for myself but I hear the Flying Unicorn is a mild coaster.

The flying unicorn is a childs coaster, but it can be fun for adults too. Back to the future is not at IOA it is at regular universal. I did not like Dudleys (log ride) it has a very high drop and you get really wet. I still had fun, but it is a lot of money if you don't love to experience the themeing, the music and your family members reactions.

Ok first off yes the roller coasters are not for chickens. Actually I was a chicken of that ride till I went on it (friends talked me into it) then I love it to death. Dr. Doom is a rush on the first launch and drop, after that the view is great, and the drops are rediculously slow so no worries. There is the storm force similiar to mad hatter tea cup at Disney. I always found these types of rides cheesy, but that is just me. Dudley is like a descent drop, but it is so fast you will forget about it plus you will have to worry more about complaining that you are wet. Popeye is just a fun old fashion family ride and everyone will laugh. Oh yeah you get soaked beyond belief (have fun). Jurassic Park river adventure has "supposedly" a big drop. I think it is a very smooth, short, and fast drop so it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. There is the terridactal ride, but check the weight limit. The flying unicorn is a kiddy ride, but looks actually relaxing for adults. posideon's fury is plain amazing, a must see. Sinbad is ok though I think the recently hired actors stink. Does anyone else feel this way??? Cat in the hat is cool even though you get spun around for no reason, it is definetely not a scary ride, you can manage. And if you feel obligated, there is the carsuessel. I wouldn't go on it because the luck I have had throughout my life, I will probably go on it and a group of my friends from school will probably be there. Talk about a crummy reputation for Senior year. There is honestly a lot to do there so enjoy yourself!
