So I have been using The Touring Plans to do my trip for Disney. I check out what it recommends me to do for IOA and on Nov 20th and it has me going to to Harry Potter area after some other areas. Like right around 11ish, this seem backwards to me, shouldn't I go to the busy place first before the lines get long? What are you guys thoughts on this, should I follow Touring Plans and trust it knows what it is doing or should I just go to Harry Potter area first like I think I should? (and fyi I missing Animal Kingdom for Harry Potter so I want to make sure I make the most out of it)

my experience has been that first thing at 9 am the line is decent, but later in the day (after 11) it just keeps building

IMO, do Harry Potter first, because it will get busy in the afternoon. Also, an hour or two before closing has been reported as good time to visit Harry Potter because the crowds have begun to disperse by then. And if you plan on doing the Olliver's wand show, do that before Forgotten Journey in the morning, because that line has longer waits from what I've heard.

We tried touring plans but did do Potter first although it was recommending the end of the day - and were glad we did. We were there 7/31 - very busy - and the plan was totally wrong after about the first 2 hours! Lines it had at 20-25 min were 60+!
So - get the important stuff in first - you can go back for more later.

i always try do fj first thing in the morning.

last year at the end of my trip, i didn't.
i went to fj near the end of the evening and it was down, never did come back up.

if this is your first time to do that ride, go early in the morning and wait it out if there is a long line.

you never know when that ride could be shut down.

if you wait until the late evening before the park closes and it is down, you are out of luck.

You can move things around to where you want them and then hit 'evaluate' and it will give you the projected wait times so you can compare with the original. I changed mine and it had some longer waits for some of the other things but there is no way I could make DD8 wait for wwohp once we get there.
