Invite someone and pay with dining plan?

We are planning a trip taking advantage of FD. But due to travel, it looks like we will have a few extra table services that we might not get to use.

My parents will be visiting us and plan on having dinner together. We will use DDP, but can I pay for their meals with my extra entitlements?

No. You cannot use credits to purchase meals for anyone not on the dining plan. If you look at your key to the world card it will say something in the lower left side Like DDP and under it will say A-02 and C-02 (which means there are 2 adults and 2 children on the dining plan). You cannot use more credits than that at any given time.

If you read the rules and regulations in the Dining Plan Literature on the Disney site, it will say that you can NOT use credits for anyone not on the plan. This is Disney's policy.

Your card will say how many adults and how many kids are on your plan. You will not be allowed to order more meals then this number at any given time.

Personally I think they should allow it as you've paid for them but they don't. Here's one item from the FAQ on the DDP brochure itself.

Q. Can I use my Disney Deluxe Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members who are not included in my reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan?
A. Sorry, you may not use your Disney Deluxe Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members who are not included in your reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan.

As others have mentioned, unfortunately you will not be able to do this.

When you give your KTTW card to the server they will only be allowed to deduct the amount of credits for the people on the reservation. So if it is you and DH, then it will only be 2. No matter if you have credits left they won't allow you to use more than that at one time.
It is a nice thought though.

The policy as written out by Disney and their method of enforcement has been posted. Closing this thread, as per the policy of the DIS restaurant board discussion of using your credits to buy food for persons not on your plan is not permitted.
