Hello! First, I want to say that I am amazed at all the incredible information and amazing people on this board, I am honored to be a part of it.

I was wondering if any of you know anything about invitational upgrades. I know sometimes they will bump you up a class if you inquire about them and they are available - but what are the chances? Anyone have any idea?

Thanks!
Lynn

It depends on how busy the hotel is. It makes a lot of difference onthe time of year you are going/the hotel/ and what kind of up grade you would want (view, room size, concierge). It neer hurts to ask once you get thereprincess:

Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate it. We are going January 7-16th to the Pop Century. I was able to get the AP rate for the 9-16th but not for the 7th and 8th (marathon I am sure is the reason) but I have heard people got upgraded to moderate from value, and upgraded from moderate to deluxe. I called today, but they said there were not any available.

Thanks :) :earsboy: :earsgirl:

You were lucky to get the AP rate past the 13th - I have been told (and seen on several sites) that rates for that weekend have been hard to come by. I'll also be at Pop from the 9th - 14th - small world. :)

Personally, I've never heard of anyone upgraded to ANOTHER resort, only upgrades within a resort. The only thing I have heard like that is when you call and make ressies, if you inquire about a more expensive resort and then decide on a cheaper one, sometimes a special "deal" comes up on the reservationists screen offering you a discount at a higher-tier resort. However, I don't think this would be any cheaper than the already low AP rates at those resorts, and is not something that always happens.

N.E.D.

resort upgrades have occured when they have closed a resort for remodeling or something and I guess they could occur if Disney overbooked, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
