Hello ladies (and gents),

I need some help with the wording of my engagement party invitations:

I need them to clearly state that our wedding will be next May (2009) in Disney, but also state that the date of the e-party is this August...
I'm a bit stumped, as each time I write it, it gets confusing as to which date is what... its like, there are too many dates mentioned! lol

Here's the best I've come up with (in between working, of course ;) ).

"Cosi Bella" and "Her man" are getting Married!
May, 2009 at Walt Disney World, Florida...(any better way of saying this too? I'm so off today, I've been sick for a week with a head cold and all creativity and inspiration has just left me!!)

Please join us to celebrate the engagement of "blah and blah" (is this redundant?? I think it is)
on August [some date here], 2008
[Location]
[all that other stuff that goes in an invitation]

I hate it! lol. any ideas/help are GREATLy appreciated.

Are you sending these out as pre-save the dates? If not, I might not include to date of the wedding. I would just send it out as an invite to an engagement party.

Yes these will be pre STD's. The problem is that I have to put in this Pre std when exactly our wedding is so that we have it in writting, and so that we can send this "announcement" out asap. We are having a few "problems" and the sooner we can let everyone know "officially" (apparently word of mouth is not good enough) when the wedding is, the better off we'll be.

Rather then sending a pre STD, then have disney send their STD, I wanted to skillfully combine this "announcement of our wedding date" with the engagement party invite. This will serve two purposes. 1. Let everyone know when our wedding is ( so NO ONE can plan their wedding near it! lol). and 2. Let everyone know when our engagement party is.

To the untrained eye, however, it will appear to be a regular old e-party invite... Little do they know that subconsciously I will be embedding my wedding date in the back of their heads, so that when *certain* people decide when to schedule their wedding, they will automatically think "we can't do it then, that's when they are getting married" its brilliant!

My creativity isn't totally there tonight either but how about reversing the paragraphs:

Please join us for a Magical Celebration
of the engagement of
"Cosi Bella" and "Her man"
Auguast xx 2008
(more details here)

The magic will continue
May 2009
Disney's Wedding Pavillion
when "Cosi Bella" and "Her man"
begin their fairytale forever!

OOOH I really like that! That is excellent! Thanks so much, that gets my creative juices flowing... (why does that ALWAYS sound so weird!? lol) :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I too need a little assistance. We're having our Disney Ceremony with family in Florida (October), and then after the vacation/honeymoon we're going to do a reception celebration in December at home in NY.

DF's parents are divorced and his mother is remarried. I want the invitation to include both our parents, respectively and his SF.

Mrs. XX and Mr. XX Jones
and
Mrs. XX and Mr. Pyne
and
Mr. XX Smith

That just looks weird to me.

this is a tough one... I think one thing you could do to crisp it up is to take out the first names of everyone, so it is a bit less wordy...

ex. instead of Mrs. xx and Mr. xx Jones, just put:

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones and
Mr. and Mrs. John Pyne and Mr. Smith request the honor blah blah blah...

Try writing it down on paper and seeing how it looks in print, that might make it a bit better, or give you some inspiration! HTH!

My DF's parents are both remarried and you're right. It's a lot of lines and words and looks so busy. But, I think you have it a good way. I don't think we will end up putting his step parents names on the invite. He doesn't get a long that well with his SM and it wouldn't be fair to put one name and not both. AGH! It's all too much! :sad2:
