Invitation Wording Dilemma

Hi! I need help with the wording on the invitations for the reception. We are getting married on a Disney Dream cruise (9/15/11) with the ceremony on Castaway Cay (9/17/11). Our reception will be two weeks after the ceremony (10/1/11).

Does anyone have suggestions for wording? We'd like to include the announcement of (or invitation to) the actual wedding but since we know who is joining us on the cruise the majority of invitees would only be "invited" to the reception although anyone was welcome to join us on the cruise (if that makes sense?).

Note 1: We would also like the invitation to reflect something "Disney" as we are having a Disney wedding.

Note 2: My parents are divorced so a "Mr. and Mrs. Doe" invite you to the wedding of their daughter format does not work.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Tossing ideas here...I don't know how formal/informal you're trying to be -

You are cordially invited to celebrate the beginning of a happily ever after...

You are invited to join us as we sail away to a place where dreams come true...

You are invited to join ____________ and _____________ as they make their fairy tale come true...

_________ and __________ invite you to believe in magic and share in their celebration as they begin their own happily ever after. Your presence is requested at....

It sounds like you are inviting everyone to the cruise wedding, and also to the reception?

If so, I would put the main wording of the invitation inviting everyone to the wedding on 9/17/11 at Castaway Cay (although it may be a little late to book; do you have a full ship? If so, you may not want to give people the option of sailing with you).

Then at the bottom put something like, "We are also celebrating with a reception at _____ in the city of _____ on 10/1/11."

Then on the response card, give the guests the option of saying Yes/No to each event.

To be honest, it may be a little late to invite people on the cruise. It's tough to plan a 4-7 day vacation on a months notice for most people (I know it would be for me). People may take it the wrong way, like why did you wait so long to invite them on the cruise. Just my two cents! You might consider inviting everyone who is not already booked on the cruise, to just the reception.

As for the parents thing, both our parents are still married but since all three families are helping with the budget, our invitations will say, "Together with their families." This wording may also work for a divorce situation since you aren't actually naming names on the invite.

I hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input - So this is what I have at the moment. Where should I put in the "Disney Dream" cruise part or is it necessary?

I really like the wording you came up with! I don't think you need to add the Dream, but if you really wanted to maybe something like, "on the shores of Castaway Cay, Bahamas, via the Disney Dreams Cruise Ship." Or "On the shores of Disney's Castaway Cay."
