Invisalign at DLR - question about restrooms

Hello, everyone! DH and I are visiting DLR in June and it'll be my first trip wearing Invisalign. For maximum effectiveness, the aligners are supposed to be worn for a minimum of 20 hours per day and they must be removed before consuming anything other than water. I've found that when I'm away from home, it's the most convenient and sanitary for me to have access to paper towels upon removing my aligners. From what I can recall, I believe DLR has hand dryers in their restrooms, but I don't have the best memory. Am I correct? If so, are there any restrooms in either park that have paper towels?

Also, if anyone has ever visited DLR with Invisalign before, any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!

:thanks:

We did not see any restrooms with hand dryers only. I expect they are in the parks somewhere, but we visited quite a few last week and all had the automatic paper towel dispensers!

My daughter just got hers recently. I'm guessing you will want access to a bathroom anyway so you can wash your hands before putting your fingers in your mouth to remove them.

I would suggest keeping a couple napkins in a pocket as a backup just in case.

Good luck with it.

They all have paper towels. Do you need them for your hands, or are they needed to help remove/store the aligner? There are storage cases available on line for Invisalign aligners, so you don't have to sit at a table with a paper towels that might accidentally get bussed while you aren't looking. But I'm not certain this is what you're asking.

i didn't wear invisalign, but my husband did (he's done with his treatment and wears retainers now). i had braces as a teen and visited the parks while wearing my retainers, which is basically the same concept as invisalign. they aren't a big deal at all. take them out when you eat or drink, put them back in when you're done- easy peasy. there are napkins at all the restaurants and paper towels in all the restrooms if you need them. there was a point during my husband's treatment where food would get stuck in his teeth very easily, so he would just keep floss sticks on hand to use after eating.
definitely use a case when they're not in your mouth. don't wrap them up in a napkin! i always used my retainer cases. my husband would just put his trays/retainers in his pocket, which i kept telling him to not do, but he didn't listen. so it wasn't too surprising when he broke his bottom retainer by sitting on it. don't make the same mistake.

I use the paper towels to wash my hands before removing my aligners. I have 2 cases that I use for my aligners (red for travel, blue for home) because I'm terrified of accidentally throwing them away or losing them. Thanks for your reply! :flower3:

Thank you all for your responses! Our last trip to DLR was in 2014, and this is one instance when I'm glad that my memory failed because having paper towels available in the restrooms will make my life much easier. :yay: I'll actually be on my last set of aligners during our visit. However, I asked for tips because I find that having Invisalign while on vacation is very annoying since I'm so by-the-book about my aligners, and this will be my longest vacation with Invisalign thus far. The process of removing an re-inserting the aligners isn't as cumbersome to me as trying to keep my teeth as clean as possible while not having convenient access to a place where I can brush and floss my teeth as often as I normally do, so I was interested to see what stories/insights others could share that may have made the process easier for them.

Again, thank you all for your help!
