Has anyone ever tried an inversion table for back pain? My DH has a lot of back issues, and he is considering buying one and I was just wondering if it is helpful or if anyone has had any experience with one. TIA

I don't know about inversion tables, but Yoga is really good for back pain. There is a DVD, yoga for back pain, by Cappy you might want to look into. Much cheaper too :).

Yes. My husband has a bad back, and for several years had been going on and off to a chiropractor. She had an inversion table, and he liked it, and wanted one. That was almost 3 years ago.

I ordered one online at Walmart and had it shipped for free to the store, where we picked it up. The one we got cost about $250. I noticed they now have several more on their website; and it seems like the prices are a lot cheaper.

Due to insurance issues, he no longer sees a chiropractor, and he does still use the inversion table at home. He says it does help him.

My chiropractor told me that an inversion table would be very bad for my back condition, but it could be just my back.

Mine said it wouldn't work, he wanted to do three tx a week! I went for two weeks and couldn't walk after the tx, they made it worse. My MD sent me for an MRI and it showed compressed disc and ruptured disc. DH had the inversion table and so I tried it (he swears by it) I used it and it helped more than the chiropractor! I also bought a Back to Life (I know..an infommercial but I have had the pain for 2 years) it seems to help. I just don't want surgery. Physical Therapy helped quite a bit as well.

I had surgery in '05 and it was successful, but I still have some back pain. I find that regular use of the elliptical helps tremendously.

I don't know exactly what's wrong with my back, but I often have a sore back.. and I got a foam roller for Christmas. I use it every day and it's seriously a godsend!

DH has a bad back (had a surgery for a ruptured disc years ago) and still has back issues and has an inversion table. He uses it whenever his back starts to give him problems and says it helps alot.
