Hello

We arrive at DLP on July 15 for 3 days.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the buffet at Inventions.

Is it all seafood? as I don't like fish,

Are all the meats in sauces or could you get some meat cut off the bone like in a carvery.

Is there a large variety of vegetables again cooked plain and with out Sauces.

I guess what I want to know - is it possible to get a 'sunday lunch'

If that is possible that would be a welcome change from fast food.

We would love to eat here but fear it might be a waste if we don't like much.

Thankyou

We ate there at Easter and have booked to go again next month.
There is info in my Easter trippie about it and I think I wrote a review on the restaurant thread

It was fantastic - there was so much food and a great variety.

There was a large selection of starters everything from melon to stuffed vine leaves etc etc

There was then another large table full of different salads

There was then a large table full of sea food

Then the main hot section. There were about 4 or 5 different types of meat - mainly in sauces but not overpowering but Im sure there was at least one kind not in sauce.
There were different vegetables but not really like a traditional Sunday lunch however it certainly wasnt fast food.
I remember there was mashed potatoe and another kind of potatoes

There was then an enormous table full of desserts.

I think it would be very unusual not to find something you like here.

Does this restaurant also have a main street view? Or is that reserved for the CG?

Yes there are some tables which overlook mainstreet. We are going to ask for one when we go in July as its our wedding anniversary but even if we dont get one it will still be great if last time is anything to go by.

Wow, sounds amazing. Should I swap my Cafe Mickey last day lunch for here?

We've eaten at Inventions quite a few times and I think the only time we've had meat carved off the joint was at Christmas Eve. Most recently we ate there last Saturday and I'd recommend it hugely - even though with the current exchange rate its quite expensive. As others have said, there's a big choice and also kiddy food eg chicken nuggets. So I'd be surprised if you didn't find plenty you like. The dessert range is brill.

I'd definitely pick it over Cafe Mickey but I know that not everyone agrees

It´s a great place. Expensive but worth it - french buffet-cuisine at it´s best. There IS a lot of seafood, but also lots of other option.

Enjoy.

Its a wonderful place to eat, lots of choice and even though there is fish on offer there are other things as well. When I was there last week we had a joint of roast pork carved and I had that served with mashed potato and asstd veg, besides other things on my plate as well!!!

Yes it is expensive but the food is lovely, the atmosphere is great, character interaction fantastic and I'd rather save my pennies and eat there one night and have Mcdonalds for the rest of my stay if needs be!!:rotfl2:
