inventions sunday brunch themes?

13.00 - 15.00 :)

58€ adults - 28€ child if it's not gone up again :)

Thanks Carrie. That's a lot more than I was expecting for some reason :confused3 might stick with my original plan of going to DLH for a late breakfast in rather than the brunch.

What characters are usual for the evening buffet character meal?

So wish we were there on the Sunday for Alice theme!

Mickey is always there. Minnie, Pluto and Goofy most of the times. I recall seeing Chip and Dale, Geppetto, Pinocchio and Gideon besides that. It's mostly the standards with one or two other characters thrown in.

Hmm, I had been planning to have a birthday cake at Cafe Mickey for my daughter's early (by 3 weeks) birthday treat, but if they have Rapunzel or even Alice at the themed Inventions brunch, I could be so tempted to change my mind. It's expensive, but slightly less than Auberge and I took them there last time.. there might be more chance of the kids actually liking their food at Inventions as well! :lmao: I know we wouldn't have room for any cake though, we'd have to box it up and take it home on the Eurostar with us that night, whch seems a bit daft when at Cafe Mickey it would have been our dessert. Hmm, lots to think about before November!

I wonder if it'd be overkill to do the Sat night at Cafe Mickey for shared pizzas and a birthday cake, then the Inventions brunch on the Sunday as a last blow out meal before we go home that evening ;)

Serenlas - I don't think it's overkill - we did 4 character meals in 5 days on our last trip :lmao:. It's a good job we did as we would have seen hardly any characters otherwise as there were hardly any in the park, those that were had the biggest queues ever as a result .

We would have been doing Inventions for an evening meal anyway, so we might skip that (and do Walts instead for a late lunch) and do the brunch on the Sunday if we do change our plans. I have a horrible feeling it might be silly expensive to change though!

ETA - we won't be changing - it's £300 to change the flight - for another 5 hours park time it's really not worth it. Hopefully we'll get a chance to do the brunch another trip! We will probably go for dinner as per our first idea! Actually, it works well as the park will be closing at 7 pm two nights so it's a nice thing to do then :-)

Rosebug - the characters seem to be more mainstream - I think Disney are messing about with characters these days (not sure why but there is just something not right about it all?). We saw Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Pinnochio & Donald Duck (we'd seen all but Pinnochio at other character meals too!). Mickey was nowhere to be seen at our meal (not that we were too fussed as we were on first name terms with him we'd seen him so much :lmao:).

On previous trips I can't remember who we saw - I know we saw Launchpad once (and I was so excited my husband looked on in horror!), and Geppetto and Gideon too. I think we saw Scrooge there as well but we weren't in the restaurant that night, just looking in from the bar area and could see him.

I'll make sure to post a review in the Inventions thread.
Thank you. :)

I don't think it's overkill either - I think it's a far better idea than having a cake at Inventions which seems a bit of a waste when there are so many yummy desserts and it's such an easy way to meet characters.

Yeah, I think I'm selling the idea to myself :) I think MIL will be shocked at the price, but I've got about £36 Quidco cashback coming to me from the DLP booking, so I'll put that towards it and then it won't seem as bad! :) If anyone's done both, do you think the brunch is better than dinner? I guess the food is pretty much guaranteed not to have been hanging around for hours? & is there plenty for a vegetarian?

I've done both. Liked brunch much better than dinner.

The bruch does have some "specialized" food options going along with the theme - for Italy different pasta dishes, pizzas and salads that were to die for. For the Hawaii one they worked with pineapples a lot.

Dinner food is still good, but I like those subtle changes. Also I did get the impression for the brunch food was more timely refilled. And one of the most important things: the character interaction at brunch was much better in my eyes, possibly because it was less crowded than in the evening.

Yes, there'll be lots of choices for a vegetarian. I've posted pictures in the Inventions restaurant thread. I'll pay close attention to the vegetarian dishes next week.

Brilliant, thanks! I'm sure the MIL will be convincable :) If it's 1-3, does that mean you generally arrive at 1 and stay for approx 2 hours, or can you arrive at any time in that slot? Sorry for all the questions! So excited

I wish they did more themed character meals - I think they should have an Alice tea party for instance ... but that's just because I would love that.

I usually book 1 PM and stay until I've seen all characters. Or am done with desserts, whatever happens later. ;) I have seen people being seated at 2 PM (DBF says even later than that), so I would assume there are different time slots.

Gone up again :scared1:

Adult 64 euros....was 58€
Children 3 -12 years : 32 euros ....was 28€

:scared: Oh well, beans on toast it is for the next month then .....

:lmao: I'm sure it will be worth it - and I can't recall there being beans on the menu at Inventions so at least you won't have to eat them there as well ;). It is a serious amount of money though....

It is, I think it might be too much for us to be honest. It was majorly expensive anyway, but an additional 20 euro for the 4 of us is a big hike. I guess I could be persuaded if we were guaranteed a Rapunzel theme..!

how much are drinks over here? ie juice/water/coke... and what about the refills do you need to pay every time or just one?

TIA

I'm thinking I need to start saving for our trip in March as I want to eat here:blush:
