Introducing myself

Hi, everyone!

My name is Kimberly (or Kimmy, but not Kim )

I've been putting my pics in photo albums for as long as I can remember, but 10 years ago I went to my first Creative Memories class and was HOOKED! Totally fell in love with scrapbooking!

Shortly after that, I decided to become a consultant because I knew I'd be doing this forever and thought I might as well get my stuff at a discount, too. I was a CM only kinda gal up until almost a year ago. I joined a scrapbooking message board and have greatly broadened my horizons. My scrapbooking style has really changed since then and I'm loving it more than ever.

However, I've found that I'm not doing it as much. I used to be able to brag that I was caught up on ALL of my projects. Can't claim that anymore. Mostly because I spend too much time on my computer instead of at my scrap-table.

Lately, I've been calling myself a collector because I keep buying stuff even though I haven't been scrapping lately.

I'm hoping to change that, though. Tomorrow I'm having a couple of friends over to scrapbook for the day.

I've done a couple of Disney albums already and in Feb. I'm going to a retreat and will work on the 2 DL trips I took last year.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has done and getting some good ideas!

Welcome aboard! Glad to have a fresh "face". We are a very friendly group around here, but at times the board is pretty quiet (like today it seems). We would love to see anything you would like to share. Thanks for introducing yourself. (oops...guess I should do the same back!)

Hi.... I'm PJLLA (otherwise known as Pamela)... had I known I was going to be so involved with these boards, I would have picked a much more exciting screen name!

Anyhow, I have been scrapping in one fashion or other since at least 1976, when I made my first real scrapbook about a visit to Michigan (a big deal for a girl from Massachusetts whose family never went anywhere!). But I really got into the type of scrapping that most of us do today in about 1995 when my DD was born. I slacked off for a while after doing DD's baby pages and after DS was born in 1998, but jumped back in with both feet in about 2000 and haven't looked back. As far as being "behind".... I try hard not to stress too much about it.

I wish I could ever say that I am caught up. But I started very late, my kids were 8 and 10 when I started, so I've got 10 years of catching up to do. Lately I really find myself wanting to work on some current things that are happening. But I'm afraid if I start that I'll never get back to the younger years.

I'm making books by child, not a family book. I have the first 2 years done for each child, the 3-4 year album started for my oldest son. I did make separate sports albums for each of them with all of their team photos, etc. I;m only a couple of sports behind in those. And after our latest trip to Disney I couldn't stand it anymore I had to work on some Disney pages. But of course that started out behind as well. We have taken 5 trips to Disney and I have only gotten as far as the 2nd one. I also started about 2 years ago making a scrapbook of grandkids for my MIL, I update it with new pages every year for Christmas.

Boy, I need more time to scrapbook. So much is yet to be done.

Are you keeping the sports scrapbooks on going?? I wanted to do something like that but wanted to see if anyone else was doing that... Our kids started playing sports when they were 4... so, I'm like 11 years behind in my oldest..but I know where all the pictures are for all the sports... so, that would make me 9 behind for dd, 8 behind for ds, 6 behind for ds, and 2 behind for the youngest! I thought it would be neat to start one and keep it growing through high school or even college if they stuck with something!

Welcome Kimmy. I'm Lisa and I'm pretty new to these boards (I only found this scrapping board right before Christmas). I've been scrapping for 6+ years and I'm never caught up.

I just went to a retreat this past weekend and got 34 Disney pages completed. I need to keep on cracking to get my 2006 pictures done before we go back in April. I keep telling myself that I won't take as many pictures the next time we go back. Yah right!

I hope you post your layouts. I love to see other people's Disney pages.

Yes, they are really easy to keep up with. And they were the fastest to put together. Even with looking back through all the photo albums and scanning pics for printing they went very quickly. I'll post some pics, but I don't want to go to far OT here. I'll put them in the Virtual scrapbook.

Being in the UK we don't get to go to WDW as often as you lucky people who can drive there, but I've got a huge backlog to make up (not quite up to elder DS's 5th birthday 0so I can stand a wait - means I have money to spend scrapping I would otherwise save for Disney
