Okay, we are doing a Grand Gatherings trip of family members, I believe 12-14 people. The age ranges are 2-64 years old.
This will be the first trip to WDW for most of them, so I am debating between location and StormAlong Bay(BCV) or big rooms, convience of having reliable busses to parks, and a laid back resort(OKW). We are new DVC members, just closed last week with BVC, and we will have enough points for either place, so points are not the problem.
If it was your first time to WDW, would you even swim in the pool at the resort?
My first trip that I remember, when I was in high school, my brother and I were in MK from around 9am - 2am each day with one trip to Epcot during our five day stay. We just wanted to be in the parks, so I guess the pool area is not as important, but others are going who might like to stay at the pool while the newbies go to the parks.
What are your thoughts?
Hard decision! How many kids are going??? Stormalong Bay is really an awesome pool, BUT, it may be too awesome...you might have a hard time getting them out of the pool and out to the parks!
OKW is very nice for the bigger rooms and I just really love the overall feel of the whole place. Myself, I'd go OKW, but I am biased. If you are getting more than one room, you'll probably have a better chance of being close together at OKW too.
