Hi

Looking to do a day trip into Paris during my five day break, looking to do the Eiffel Tower etc..

Has anyone got a step by step guide on how to get there

Phil

Hi Phil, we did this with our two young children ( 5 and 9) last march.

Its very very simple to do and we had a fantastic time in Paris for the day.

The train leaves Disney on a platform the other side of the station from where the Eurostar comes in. And its one train into Paris. Takes about 45 mins. I think you stop at Gare De Lyon? in Paris. There we went to the METRO and stopped at Trocadero for fantastic views of the Eifel Tower and surrounding fountains. You can walk along the fountains then to the Tower. We also took a river cruise which was about an hour long and well worth the money. the METRO is quite simple to navigate even with the kids tagging along. We also walked to the Arc D' Triomphe and walked down the Champs Eleysse.

We had a wonderful time.

Thanks guys for the advice, we will have a 5 & 6 year old so its nice to know its simple.

To get to the Eiffel Tower the best way is tho get the RER train as mentioned above and get off at Charles de Gualle Etoile (don't confuse this with Charles de Gualle Airport).
From there swap onto metro Line 6 and go 3 stops to Trocadero. As someone else said you get lovely views of the Tower from there and can walk down towards it by the Fountans.

The RER line stops at a few stations in Central Paris - Nation, Gare de Lyon, Chatelet des Halles, Auber and Charles de G Etoille.
All these stations connect with the metro system and you don't need to exit the station to change just follow the signs

This map is useful to look at -

C de G Etoile is at the top of the Champs Elysee next to the Arc de Triomphe

The best ticket to buy from DLP to Paris is a mobiles ticket which costs approx 16 Euros but gives you a return to and from DLP and unlimited use of the metro all day
