From what I can tell, with the intimate wedding package and your 18 guests there is no reception. Can I add on a reception or is that not allowed on the intimate weddings? I read something about cake and champagne for 8 guests but I can't not invite people that flew down for my event!... I could always do a nice dinner but would prefer the disney reception. Would that be possible?:confused3

Thanks guys!

Intimates don't get receptions. But you can plan a very nice dinner for all of your guests. Dinners are not part of the wedding package so there are no guest restrictions. You can also pack your cake up and serve it at dinner so that those who could not attend your ceremony can still feel a part of the event. You can rent private rooms at the CG and the GF restaurants.

The cake cutting is for up to 18 guests, the same guests that attended the ceremony. But if you get a private room at California grill you could always still hire a dj and have your cake delivered there...it could easily be a nice reception venue. But all of that will be extra on top of your intimate package. Still...it's a very nice option.

When they say the cake & champagne reception is for up to 8 guests, they mean that's how many the champagne will cover. You just order an extra bottle to cover however many extra people you have.

Also, while you theoretically can have as many people as you want at your post-ceremony dinner, I am finding that your options for dining with more than 12 people are limited. Many restaurants - even the ones at Downtown Disney not owned by Disney - make you order off the banquet menu if you have more than 12, and the banquet menus can be pricey!

Plus there's the limited number of places that are open for lunch, and if you want to do dinner, most restaurants make you book the first seating, at 5:30 - doesn't work so hot with most of the Escape ceremony times.

I didn't mean to go off, I just thought you might like to know what we've learned.... :thumbsup2
