Okay, so we are all booked for October 2nd, at 10:00 AM. Here is our dillema... FH really wants an early morning wedding. He said he's been waiting for over a year to marry me, and he doesn't want to have to wait any longer that day. I think it's adorable, personally! The only thing is there really aren't any places open for lunch, so basically we'd meet our guests that evening for dinner at 5:00 PM. That's kind of a huge gap, maybe too big? Should we just take everyone to a casual lunch? I'm not really too keen on that idea, or should we do both?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

theres the garden view lounge at the grand floridian where the gf hosts its afternoon tea. that would be nice after the wedding pavilion for lunch. they also have sandwiches & other fancy goodies. you can view the menu here http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_gft.htm & a picture here http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/gf12.jpg or you could go with the evening dinner, just plan a break or another activity in the afternoon ie rent a pontoon for an afternoon cruise, go the parks, etc. i think either way would be fine.

27 days until our wedding! :bride: :groom: yeah! :woohoo:

Also, you don't have to entertain everyone between the ceremony and the evening dinner reception. That's part of the fun of having a DFTW! Folks may want to take a nap, go to the pool (it's plenty warm enough in October for that), go to the parks or explore their resort. You could have a casual lunch with some of the wedding guests or just the two of you if you want, or the tea twojo21 suggested sounds really nice.

Are you planning to wear your wedding attire to dinner? If so, take it off so it doesn't get all wrinkled, be careful with your hair, and relax for a few hours. If you have an outside photographer, or even Disney probably at a price, you can take some more pictures around the WP or at a resort, or have a family member or friend take pictures. I think you should have the dinner reception if that's what you want to have :)

Our wedding was at 9am at Sunset Pointe. It was June and I didn't want to be baking out in the sun, but it was still 90 degrees....anyway, here's what we did. We got married at 9, when the ceremony was over we had a "fake" cake cutting--meaning we cut the cake but didn't eat it, did the dance, all the regular wedding things. We did pictures all over the Poly and then around 10:30ish went to Ohana for breakfast. There we got pics of Mickey and the gang in our wedding attire, something I really wanted, but we couldn't fit having characters in our budget. By the time we got back to our hotel it was past noon and we needed a break. We changed out of our wedding attire, relaxed and then went to DTD to buy our wedding ears and some other wedding things. We all met up at Narcoosee's at 6 where we had dinner, had the cake and watched Wishes from the porch. Our guests were happy for the break. The break was welcomed by everyone in our party. Some went back to the room for a nap (those who cursed me for making them get up so early on vacation), some went to the parks for a while, but no one had any problem with the break in between.

I'm glad to hear that. We were basically planning on doing something similar.

Thanks!
Ashley
