Intimate Cake Reception

How long does the cake reception usually last (because I picked for the cake to be sent to the restaurant after the ceremony after our little cake cutting reception)
Also how much music is played during this??
Can I dance with my dad and my fiance with his mom??

Yes, you will have time to do some dances. I have heard people say that their reception lasted 15 minutes and I have heard people say that they stayed for an hour. (The violinist didn't stay, I don't think) I would say to talk to your em and let them know what you are expecting. I want mine to be kinda short. We aren't dancing. We're just doing the cake thing and then heading to dinner.
