Intimate: Cake Filling Flavors

DisneyBride!

11 days! CONGRATULATIONS! Wooohooooooo....how excited are you? How many lists do you have going? I am three months out, and I have three going. Three (3) lists. For an intimate wedding. I have lists about the lists.

I am making myself crazy. No joke. I know--it's silly to obsess about details, but that is how I am--too late to change now.

Thank you SO much for the great pictures--that was so very kind of you! I like the last one best I think. If I can get them to do that in a gold color, maybe with a fondant ribbon it would be fabulous for us. I don't know how Mickie and Minnie will look perched on top of all that, but maybe they will think they are back in Paris?

You're very welcome. I had a little time, so I did a Google Image search. I'm sure if you see something that you like that isn't a cake, the GF bakery will come up with something amazing. :wizard: Your idea sounds great- maybe if you had the fleur de lis subtly dusted in a pale gold dust (the stuff they use for the mickey's delight) with a gold ribbon- wow... that would be sooo cool!! Maybe if you had Mickey and Minnie on top, surrounded by flowers? That would be very cool, too. And hey, theres nothing wrong with M&M thinking they're in Paris ;)

I am so excited I could burst! My dress is ready to be picked up today after work, so I'm just dying for 4:30 to come! I have lists upon lists and lists to keep track of my lists, and I'm having an Intimate, too. I just justify it by thinking "I'm only doing this once!" I just have to learn how to RELAX!!! Maybe I'll get a chair massage this weekend.

Time flies... seriously! December is a good month, too :) (B-day is 12/12!)

Yeah, I am really looking forward to that cake again :teeth: Our EM boxed up the top and the WL front desk kept it in the freezer for us, then MIL & FIL put it in a cooler with ice and drove it back and kept it in their freezer until we got home from our honeymoon.

We actually had the opposite problem, our custom cake was way too big for 10 people

and I should have had the server cut up the bottom layer and box it separately so each guest could take some back to their resort, but I didn't, and I didn't refrigerate it. So after we had a couple more pieces that night, by the morning it was ruined - it did not stand up well to non-refrigeration :sad2: So, it died a horrible death. There was enough of the bottom layer left to feed an army. Oh well . . . I do still have the top and I'm happy about that! I think I might splurge on a bottle of the Disney champagne next time we're over there and have that with the cake on our anniversary.

The top layer of our cake died a horrible death. :sad2: Haha...I gave the rest of the bottom layer to my parents and they ate a little bit and then drove it down to my Grandparent's house. Everyone got to continue to enjoy the cake! We had the cake that is provided with the Initimate Weddings and it was way too much for 16 people! Our cake wasn't boxed up or taken care of at all, which is why it didn't make it. It was 98 degrees outside! No one bothered to think about refridgeration for the cake or my flowers. Of course, we were all stessed...so it didn't even enter my mind until much later. By then...it was too late... :lmao:
