Interview the person below you (Part II)

Being an attraction CM at HM.

Which FLE attraction are you looking forward to the most?

not sure really............maybe the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Do you belong to D23? If so, have you been to any of the special events?

I don't belong but find it interesting!

What's one "worry" you have when heading off for your Disney vacation?

Mostly I'm always stressed about the plane ride..I get major ear infections due to the pressure change, so I'm always afraid it will ruin my vacation. In fact last year I was so worried we took the train down instead so I wouldn't be in pain, lol!! I also worry about my dog being boarded, I don't like leaving her :(

Tell me about something you forgot your last trip that actually made an impact on your vacation.

Tell me about something you forgot your last trip that actually made an impact on your vacation.

We told my DS (17) to pack an additional pair of sneakers and he "forgot." We went on a water ride at Universal/IoA and we got SOAKED. His sneakers were so heavy and soaked that we knew they wouldn't dry and we had to go shopping to buy another pair. The problem was he also forgot to pack his slides and he wears a size 15 shoe!! He had nothing to put on his feet except the soaking wet sneakers. Results? He wore his dads size 12 slides (waayy too small for him) and we shopped or sneakers in town instead of enjoying pool or park time. Teenagers. Gotta love them. ;)

What is your favorite attraction, in each park, to run to during a down pour. Do you "Disney Poncho" or purchase ponchos at home? What do you do with the ponchos when you are not using them? ( lockers or backpack). Do you always bring ponchos or do you watch the weather first, then decide?

We always bring ponchos......the $1 or less ones. They come in a small pack, so 2 are always in my pack (there are just 2 of us usually). When we use them, at the end of the day, we toss them. I usually bring 6 or so.
If it is raining REALLY hard we just duck into what ever is hear by. The rain really doesn't bother us since we lived forever in WA ;)

Disney transportation, your own car or rent a car? What influences your choice?

It's all Disney transportation for us. ME is the first "attraction" for our family when we get to Orlando, so we feel like we're at Disney as soon as we get to the ME bus. My DSs love the Disney parks buses, the monorail is definitely a classic Disney attraction, and DH and I love the boats/ferries. Other than getting to DTD, we've never had a complaint about Disney transportation so there's no reason to spend money on renting a car. And there's no way I'm driving from Minnesota!

Is there a resort you visit when you're at WDW, even if you aren't staying there? Why?

/
Other than Christmas time when we visit many to see the decorations, the rest are to eat :teeth: Usually AKL, Poly are the main ones for 'Ohana and Saana.

What attraction at each park would you like to see replaced? With what?

MK - Stitch could be replaced with restrooms and I'd think it was an improvement. CoP's space would sure be great for something new though I hate to see a classic destroyed again.
AK - Dinoland.....all of it. Replace it with new nature-themed attractions with younger kids as the focus.
DHS - love the new rumor that Cars-land is coming to take over the space occupied by LMA (though my kids love the stunt show) and possibly Backlot Tour. Still angry that the Golden Girls facade is gone!
EPCOT - Captain EO could certainly disappear in favor of a new attraction and I'd love to see Ellen's Energy Adventure get a refurb. I love Ellen's but it needs an overhaul for sure.

Tomorrowland Speedway.....keep it or ditch it for something new?

Well, while we never go on it............I think it is timeless and needs to stay.

What do you think should be done with Pleasure Island.........or rather what would you like to see it be like?

I think some creative new Disney themed stores could work.

What rides do you ride more than once in a trip?

MK - Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Small World
HS - Toy Story, Tower of Terror
EP - Soarin'
AK - Safari, Lion King Show, EE

Who usually gathers the FPs for your group?

We are usually there when they aren't needed............well, except for TSMM. We walk go together, but there are usually just 2 of us

What is your favorite CS at each park........and what do you like at them?

MK- Pecos Bill's because getting chili cheese fries from there is a tradition we have.
Epcot- Tangierine Cafe. I love the chicken shawarma platter.
DHS- Not much variety here but we tend to go to ABC Commissary.
AK- I love Yak n Yeti counter. Of course, there's much better Chinese food at home but this will do here..

What are your three favorite hotels to "resort hop" at and why?

We only "resort hop" per se to visit the restaurants, but the ones we visit most often are YC (Captain's Grill - DH's fave), Poly (for 'Ohana breakfast only), and WL (for WCC).

What one thing (attraction, food, restaurant, etc) do you really enjoy that is widely panned here on the DIS?

Not really sure what is panned on the DIS.
We like Spirit of Aloha. Can't really think of anything else.

Switch it around....what food, restaurant or attraction does the DIS mostly love and you can't understand why?

The first would be O'hana. We've gone twice. We thought is was OK the first time, and was horrible the second time. We won't go back.

The second is TSM. I just don't get the hype. We went to DHS in June and did not ride. It was nice not to have to make the TSM dash.

TNP: If you were going to do an Adventures by Disney, which one would you do and why?

Egypt..........one of the places on my "list" and I have been eying it in various tours.

Which Disney tour would you like to go on.

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour because I want to see the Utilidors

What is your favorite attraction in Disney that is no longer there?

I have a vague childhood memory of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea that is probably completely inaccurate after a number of years (the exact number of which we will not discuss here!) but I'd love to ride that again. Of those that have left in recent memory, I loved Alien Encounter which makes me hate Stitch even more.

Is there any souvenir-type thing that you'd love to have but can't bring yourself to spend the bucks on?
