Interview at Lowes....what would you think?

That's very odd. I worked at Lowe's over the summer (as a seasonal employee) and found out right away if I was offered the job or not. It took about two-ish weeks before I was actually 'working'-working because of all the paperwork and drug tests and such, but I knew my pay and expected hours right off the bat.
*shrug* I guess it's different from store-to-store.
I'm actually go back there again this summer, because they pay extremely well. I got $8.68/hr last summer and worked 20-25 hour weeks, and from past employee's experience, I can expect to get probably at least $9.50 the second summer. So as a poor college student, I love this job (pay and work time, not the actual job... lol)

no, I turned it down. The HR guy never did call so I called him on Monday (about 1 week after the girl called to set up orientation) I told him I had been waiting to hear back for 2 weeks and he said, "oh yeah, you have the job but you need a drug test so when can you come in for that?" So I proceded to tell him I know nothng about the position, the money, hours benefits etc and he says "if you want to come in we can talk about it" I told him I would rather get the info right now on the phone and turns out he could only guarantee 10 hours per week. I need at least 20 hours, preferably 26 - 28 but he said no so I turned it down. I also told him I thought that the whole thing was handled unprofessionally :rolleyes1

Today I got a postcard in the mail from Lowes that said they received my application and could not offer me a position at the moment. Mailed from the store I interviewed at, the day after my conversation with the HR guy:laughing: Yeah okay...except that I turned down your offer!

It's better in the long run I guess, because I really would rather get out of retail anyway. Thanks for asking!

Wow, that almost sounds like the manager was covering himself. I would almost want to call corporate and make sure that they didn't make some sort of notation on your application after the fact, so you can't apply in the future! pirate:
