Has anybody here done a timeshare exchange with Interval International ? Comments, Problems ? We were looking to rent DVC points for an unexpected opportunity in August and found a listing on e-bay for OKW for our exact days. ?Maybe meant to be?
But since I 've never heard of this, I'm a little (a lot !) hesitant. Can any of you DVC experts point out potential problems ? I'd sure appreciate any help you can give me. I'm one of those secret lurker types, but I read the Dis every day.

One possible problem could be that it's against II policy to rent exchanges. There will also be an additional $95 fee charged by DVC when you arrive at the resort.

You might want to check out the DVC Rent/Trade Board here on the DIS. Just post the dates, resort and room type you are interested in or contact one of the members about renting a reservation from them.

The E-bay listing, most likely, is not from a DVC member but rather someone who has traded their timeshare for a week at OKW. There would be no additional taxes or fees when renting directly from a DVC member.

Enjoy!

You would not be doing an exchange. It could be an owner looking to rent out a reservation they've made. Or it could be someone who got an exchange and are trying to rent it out. It's against II's rules to rent an exchange but it's done frequently. An exchange would come with an extra $95 fee plus a guest certificate fee. If not spelled out, these would likely be the responsiblity of the exchanger but you should nail this down to be certain. Once you get there and checked in, it really doesn't matter.

You guys are the best !!
Thanks for all your help - I knew I was coming to the right place !
