I swear DVC's website team is run by an idiot LOL!

Does anyone know where they have a list of Interval International locations we can trade to?

I am interested in trading to Europe. The website says things like "Italy" Umm... it's a fairly decent size country. WHERE in Italy would be nice to know!:rotfl:

(You can also trade to "Canada" WHAT???)

They used to have a list but now it's NEW AND IMPROVED :rotfl2:

It's interesting that you should ask, because yesterday I was looking at the site for locations and realized that there weren't any. I went to Interval International's website and checked it through them, making the assumption that any location was open to trade into.

Carol, all of the II resorts WERE listed on the DVCMember website. For some reason, they have taken them off. I think this may be due to the fact that members are supposed to see the availability themselves via the web. But a message to members would be nice if this is in fact what is happening.

Well that has not been true in the past. I realize Disney is making some changes and if they do BEWARE!

I stayed in a II location in Costa Rica that was a DUMP!!! LOL! One of the first things I did when I got home was check to see if we could trade into it... We couldn't. Personally I think that there was some "quality control" before. So now if there isn't you better do your reseach or you too could be in the "no hot water, filthy resort with HORRID food" LOL

I e-mailed member services about the lack of list on the member site and they responded that the member site is being upgraded. They memtioned to use the site listed by the previous poster. The offerings on the site and the member book do not coincide. Changes have been made.:confused3

This may be a silly question but does that mean they are adding and deleting previous II locations. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Possibly, more likely they're getting ready for the 3/4 day stay options that's been hinted at.

I really question who is making the determination of what is a quality resort that DVC members are to be happy with should they trade out. Some of these places, once you read all of the reviews, seem to be dumps.

Which leads me to this question ..... how do I get the job of going to all of the resorts all over the word and trying them out before other DVC members waste their points?

:rotfl: you know, I was wondering about this as well. Even though I'm not a DVC member just yet... I know once I am I will be using II occasionally and I would THINK that all of the resorts available to DVC members would be up to Disney standards.. but then again.. maybe not? :confused3

I know you're being funny to a degree. To my knowledge, DVC doesn't send anyone to check the resorts. They rely on II internal information (which they have access to) and then supplement that with member information when possible. Resorts change over time and can do so fairly quickly in both directions. Here's a good example I think we'll see coming up. In Aruba there is a resort called La Cabana Beach and Racquet Club. It was on the exchange list from the time DVC changed over to II until a few years ago. It's 5* but on the lower end and not to DVC standards. DVC took it off a few years ago, rightfully so. They're undergoing a major renovation project to the tune of a Special Assessment of almost $1000 per unit (that's per studio and per 1BR). Given it was better than many resorts still on the list and the scope of this project, I would expect it will be added back in a couple of years, again, appropriately so.

TUG (Timeshare Users Group) is currently the best overall way to evaluate a given timeshare. Personally I look at several places if I not sure including TUG, redweeks, tripadvisors and timesharing today. I also utilize the TUG BBS to ask question that might help me make a decision, esp when comparing two or more resorts.

DVC is near the top of the food chain so there really are few resorts that are up to Disney standards. If they only had these we'd see a subset of the Marriott, Hyatt, Westin and Royals and a handful of others in the US, MX and Caribbean, Maybe 50-70 resorts at most.

I know! The list would be good, but pittiful!

I am still available should DVC ever need to someone to fill this position :goodvibes:
