The search function seems to be disabled a lot recently, so I apologize if this has already been asked.

Has anyone used Interval International to exchange into a DVC resort? If so, which resort, how many bedrooms, and what time of year? Can you offer any tips for securing a DVC resort?

My suspicion is that it is probably very difficult to get into a DVC resort, but I would love to be proven wrong.

From what I understand it is difficult to get into a DVC resort via an II exchange.

my mom has II and it all depends on the time of year and how long you can plan in advance cuz they have alot of great resorts through II ( interval international) that are in the park
did you try teh website?
also calling constantly once you talk to someone and they can tell you how its looking and all that stuff helps to
good luck

It IS a hard to get exchange and I believe Disney also charges an additional fee to exchangers too.

OKW in Sept, Oct or Nov - the problem - what is often most if a studio - now if you are used to a 2-bedroom you aren't going to be happy in a studio. Wait - a 1-bedroom will show up sometime - be patience.

now does your resort have enough pull to get a DVC resorts? you need to ask a II person that.

I hope you get one - you really sound like you would use it - not like some who post on the renter/trade board.

oh if you have a good resort you can try posting there - say in the subject line - your resort when you have it - then list what exactly you are looking for in a DVC resort. Also if you would be willing to only take Sun-Thursday (leaving Friday morning) over a whole week you will get more offers.

Jan, May, late August, Sept, Oct and Nov (excluding the holiday) will be the best time for WDW. It’s usually a studio or 1 BR now days. There are a few more available now but less 2 BR than before. There is a $95 fee in addition to the exchange fee.

I've been able to exchange into DVC twice. Once in March at OKW and will be going to BCV this Feb. Both exchanges were found on II's instant confirmation. The Key is that you have to be patient and keep looking.

Hi LePageS,
What home resort did you use to get your exchanges into DVC with so much success? Did you locate it on the II member website? How far in advance were you able to get an exchange confirmation before traveling to the DVC resort? Just interested since I am both a DVC and II member.
Thanks!

My brother and his wife are hoping to trade in through II for November 2005 at BCV for a 2 BR. We're hoping to go on an extended family trip (13 of us all together). I hope it's doable for them, because I don't have enough points for 2 2BRs. I know my SIL has already started looking into it on her end. Wish us luck.

For early November, there is a good chance for a studio or 1 BR. For later November, especially Thanksgiving, I'd say little or no chance. I have done extensive searching for DVC using II. Some I have a 5* resort that will rarely pull DVC even when it's there online. Another will pull it consistently as long as I use a 1 BR or larger and not a studio.

If anyone wants a direct trade, try the rent board. I am sure there are some who might like to trade to a II location without going through Disney. It might work for you who would like to trade into DVC.
